grimm season 4 episode 2 recap

Several things happened in this action-packed Halloween episode but Nick Burkhardt still hasn't gotten his powers back. Then again, does he want to? Read on for this week's 'Grimm' season 4 recap.

Thanks to previous spoilers about Renard's fate this season, the "time of death" fakeout last week only made some fans a little confused.

A mysterious blond looks on worriedly without really doing anything to heal the police captain. After declaring him dead, however, she gets to work, freezing time and using a two-headed snake to perhaps transfer some of her life force to him. It works and Renard gets a pulse again.

When he regains consciousness, he recognizes her as his mother, Elizabeth, and fills her in with what happened - including the part about his daughter being hidden from the mysterious royal family.

Will she look for the baby, too, now that she knows she has a granddaughter or will she let her be with Nick's mother knowing that she's safest there?

To continue with this 'Grimm' season 4 recap, Trubel barely survives Octoman's attack on her. Her memories of being a Grimm, however, have a traumatic effect on the vicious Wesen. He ends up having recurring nightmares of monster attacks, making him worse off than his previous victims.

In the meantime, Sgt. Wu finally connects Trubel to a past investigation and he's already very frustrated about not finding the truth out. When he finally confronts Nick at his house, only a freak headache due to a mind-meld with Adalind stops them from further discussing the issue.

Instead of seeing Wu and Juliette, Nick sees Adalind's (who is locked up in the castle in Vienna) surroundings. Is there more to the spell she created other than taking Nick's powers away?

Will this new development help Juliette understand how important Nick's Grimm powers are? She had earlier asked Monroe and Rosalee to cool down on the search for a cure, thinking that this "normal" state could be better for their lives.

Trubel, on the other hand, is kidnapped by the mysterious Wesen FBI agent. She previously thought Nick was the Grimm but found no proof, so she set her eyes on Trubel. Who is she working for? Is there a new evil in Portland?
