Web businessmen Kim Dotcom, one of the world's biggest cyber criminal, say his almost three years fight versus extradition to America to face internet piracy charges has left him with nothing. Dotcom, a resident in New Zealand who once showed a fully furnished rented mansion and fleet of vintage cars, said his wealth was gone because of the mounting legal fees which led in the resignation of almost all of his legal team. Dotcom is due in a court in New Zealand on today, when he might be remanded in prison for breaching his bail conditions before his extradition hearing, which has been postponed to mid-2015.

Dotcom, with Kim Schmitz as his other name, was accused of massive copyright infringement associated with Megaupload file sharing website he created in 2005. Doctom said on Tuesday, via teleconference at a digital technology in London, "My legal team has recently resigned because I ran out of money after spending $10 million to try and defend myself. 'm officially broke right now."

Megaupload was created in 2005, it is responsible for about 4% total traffic in the Web during its heyday as users shared and stored files with everything from birthday videos to Hollywood movies. A Netherlands-based LeaseWeb said it had erased all Megaupload files from almost 700 servers. The website said in a statement that it hosted the data more in 2011 a year after the arrest of Dotcom at their own expense without getting any requests to retain or access it before the time that they have decided to delete the files. During the time, Dotcom posted in his Twitter account that his lawyers asked the LeaseWeb to save the file as the case is still pending in the US court. There were millions of users' personal files lost in this case which is considered as the "largest data massacre in the history of the internet."
