‘Suspect X’ Tops ‘Masquerade’ At The Box Office For The Second Consecutive Day

Movie 'Suspect X' (directed by Bang Eun Jin) took first place at the box office for the second consecutive day.

According to the Korean Film Council's Movie Theater Tickets Integrated Network, 'Suspect X' sold 129,409 tickets on the 19th for a total of 227,927 tickets sold overall.

On its premiere date on the 18th and the following day on the 19th, 'Suspect X' placed first at the box office. This movie finally broke the reign of 'Masquerade' at the box office.

Besides the premiere day for 'Taken 2' on the September 27th, 'Masquerade' did not give up its first place at the box office since its own premiere day on the September 13th.

'Suspect X' is about a genius mathematician that attempts to create the perfect alibi to cover up the murder committed by the woman he loves. 

The movie is based on writer Higashino Keigo's most famous novel 'Suspect X'. Ryu Seung Beom plays the genius mathematician, Seok Go, Lee Yo Won plays Hwa Sun, the woman that he loves, and Jo Jin Woong plays Min Beom, a detective with animal-like instincts.

'Masquerade' placed second in the daily ranking at the box office with 110,546 tickets. Third place was 'The Company Man' with 44,135 tickets, fourth place 'Looper' sold 24,324 tickets and 'Dangerous Liaisons' placed fifth with 13,402.
