Will the Mortal Kombat X characters list be ninja-heavy? Aside from Sub-Zero and Skorpion, Ed Boon hints of Tremor up next. Ermac and Smoke also heavily rumored to be part of the mix!

The Mortal Kombat X characters list will be updated soon enough, on the January edition of Gamesmaster magazine. In the meantime, hype is at an all-time high, with a clamor for more gruesome characters thrown into the mix. Tremor is the next fan favorite, and even Ed Boon hinted as much the "new" ninja is next in line.

At least two other ninjas are rumored to join the game as main playables. Ermac and Smoke both have a successful run in previous Mortal Kombat installments, and multiple ninjas proved successful ever since MK1. NetherRealm Studios have yet to drop hints, though, let alone confirm any rumors.

Characters were revealed on a regular basis throughout this year, with Goro, Raiden, Kano, Quan Chi, Cassie Cage, Kotal Khan, Ferra/Torr, and D'Vorrah confirmed, aside from Skorpion and Sub-Zero.

There's also an extensive list of guest characters fans want to be part of the mayhem, and with unlikely choices like Freddy Krueger included in the past, it's anybody's guess what NetherRealm Studios have in mind for the Mortal Kombat X characters list.

There's plenty of time to confirm the remaining characters, since Mortal Kombat X is slated for an April 14 release date. There's more than enough fodder for suggestions in the roster, with characters in movies, games, graphic novels, and even sports entertainment considered.

Some of the more popular suggestions include:

Rorschach

The Predator

Regan MacNeil/Pazuzu

Michael Jackson: Moonwalker

Conner MacLeod ("Highlander")

Ashley J. Williams ("Evil Dead")

Jason Voorhees ("Friday the 13th")

Frank the Bunny

Spawn

Chuck Norris

Pinhead

WWE Characters

Mortal Kombat X will be released on console and on PC: PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One (ibtimes.co.in).
