‘Ghostbusters 3’ Director Paul Feig Wants ‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Rebel Wilson In The Reboot! Actress Says, ‘I Have Had A Meeting, But Who Knows?’
After director Paul Feig confirmed that he will be helming "Ghostbusters 3" and that it will star hilarious women, many people have been giving out names of actresses that they want to see in the reboot. Bill Murray revealed his choices during an interview with David Letterman. You can watch the video here.
The actor, who plays Peter Venkman in the original "Ghostbusters" movie, mentioned Melissa McCarthy, Emma Stone, Linda Cardellini, and Kristen Wiig. Among these women, only Emma Stone was included in the leaked emails from Sony to Columbia Pictures.
The Daily Beast reported that Paul Feig is planning one male part which will allegedly go to Ryan Gosling. The "Ghostbusters 3" director also wants Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence to star in the reboot. Surprisingly, Rebel Wilson was never mentioned by Bill Murray or included in Sony's leaked emails.
The "Perfect Pitch" star revealed during an interview with Matt Laurer of The Today show that she already met up with the "Bridesmaids" director regarding the all-female "Ghostbusters" movie. The Hollywood Reporter shared the video of her interview.
The Aussie comedian said, "Look, I have had a meeting, but who knows?" She added, "They have to look at the script when it's finished." The 28-year old actress recently starred in the "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" alongside Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and the late Robin Williams.
Rebel Wilson can be next seen in "Pitch Perfect 2" which will be released on May 15, 2015. She was asked if the producers have offered her the "money truck" for the next Ghostbusters sequel. The comedian said, "I would even do that without the money truck." She added, "I'd do that for free. I probably shouldn't say that live on TV."
Another actress who showed interest in the reboot is "X-Files" star Gillian Anderson who even begged the "Ghostbusters 3" director to cast her. She wrote on Reddit, "OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online. Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!"
