Park Hae Jin Injures His Back While Filming In China

Actor Park Hae Jin injured his back while filming in China. The actor was injured while shooting an action scene on the set of the Chinese drama "Secret Society of Men - Friends."

"During an action scene, he fell on his spine and hurt his back," a representative of the actor's agency, WM Company, told Chinese media. "Even now he's limping when he walks."

The actor will continue filming the drama despite sustaining a back injury that limits his mobility.

According to his agency, the actor's injury did not immediately get treated in a hospital.

"It's a long distance to the hospital in China, so for now he's wearing a back brace and using a mobility aid to get around. After his filming ends in China, he will return to Korea and receive physiotherapy."

It's not the first time that Park Hae Jin had to receive medical treatment on set.

The actor was rushed to the hospital while filming the drama "Bad Guys," after he lost consciousness. He was diagnosed with edema of the lymph nodes due to fatigue and was told to rest for several days. At that point he had already filmed for six days straight without enough rest. He did not follow doctor's orders and was back on set the next day.

In the Chinese drama "Secret Society of Men - Friends," he plays a sweet and good-natured man named Hae Boong. The drama is a sequel to the popular "Secret Society of Men," which twas shown three years ago. The drama tells the story of men in their early 30s. The men remain friends while they pursue their dreams and look for love.

Because of his back injury, the actor did have to turn down an opportunity to appear on the popular Chinese CCTV variety program "Xingguang Dadao."

"We feel really honored to have received an invitation for Park Hae Jin to appear on a representative Chinese variety program," said a WM Company representative. "But Park Hae Jin will be unable to attend the program recording due to his injury."

The program has one of the highest ratings among current CCTV programs and Park was chosen to serve as a judge because of his popularity among Chinese audiences.

The actor is well known from his roles in the dramas "You Who Came From The Stars," Doctor Stranger" and "Bad Guys." He debuted in 2008, appearing in the drama "East of Eden."
