Thanks to the search engine giant, Android users can now leave behind their worries about forgetting to download their favorite app when it lands on the Google Play Store.

Despite several new apps being created every year, the option to pre-order an app had not been introduced. Google has addressed the concern of users who worry if they will forget to download the app they want when it releases in a few months by introducing a new "pre-register" system for apps in Google Play for Android and tablet users.

The option to pre-register for apps and games on Google Play allows users to easily set up an alert so that they don't miss an app when it hits the Google Play as their device will get pinged with a notification when they're finally available to download or buy, according to The Verge.

Basically, the search giant is now allowing developers to post their apps as "Coming Soon." The option has been introduced for Android and tablet users.

Glu Media will be the first developer to use the new feature as the first app offered for pre-registration was "Terminator Genisys: Revolution," a shooter game slated to be released alongside the launch of the "Terminator: Genisys" movie.

Android users who are interested in purchasing the to-be-released game can now pre-register it, and when the game hits Google Play, the pre-registered users will be notified by Google regarding its availability.

In addition, the system will also allow users to cancel their pre-registration in case they change their mind as far as downloading or purchasing the previously pre-ordered app is concerned. The tech giant's pre-registration system helps programmers and developers see the would-be reaction to their soon-to-be released app, handling feedback in advance for possible upgrades or modifications.

Google has not yet confirmed whether every app uploaded to Google Play will be eligible for pre-release notifications, ImmortalNews noted.

The pre-registration system is simply a notification system, implying the users are not under obligation to buy a particular app or game as soon as it become available, nor are they committing to any kind of pre-order, according to a report of PC Mag.

"Terminator Genisys: Revolution" is a free to play game but users can opt to pay real money for some extra items, Glu Mobile noted in the game description.

The pre-register option can become a heavily used feature with developers, especially for more highly anticipated apps. It won't be a surprise to see Google adding a "Coming Soon" section to the Google Play Store in order to avoid crowding.
