Baeksang Arts Awards: Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Krystal Continue To Dominate Popular Votes

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye continue to dominate the popular vote in film categories for the 51st Baeksang Arts Awards. The popular vote, which has less than two days remaining, continues to reflect an outpouring of fan support for top artists.

Lee Min Ho maintains a strong lead over JYJ's Yoochun, in the Most Popular Actor in Film category. He currently leads the category with 73.26 percent of the popular vote. Lee is recognized for his compelling portrayal of a small-time thug in the 2015 film noir, "Gangnam 1970." Although, he has an extensive acting portfolio, "Gangnam 1970" served as his film debut. He is also nominated in the Best New Actor category for the film.

Yoochun is second in the category with 23.90 percent of popular votes for his film debut in "Haemoo." He is currently starring as Choi Mu Gak in the SBS series, "The Girl Who Sees Smells, which will include its 16 episode run on May 21.

Park Shin Hye continues to dominate the Most Popular Actress in Film category with 80.65 percent, for her portrayal of the Queen in "The Royal Tailor." Park is also nominated in the Best Actress Television division for "Pinocchio."

The Most Popular Actor and Actress in Television categories are currently ruled by K-pop idols. Krystal of the dance-pop group f(x) continues to lead the Most Popular Actress in Television division with 71.48 percent of votes, beating out Han Ji Min and Jang Nara. Krystal is recognized in the category for her portrayal of Yoon Se Na in the 2014 musical series, "My Lovely Girl," which served as the K-Drama return of Rain.

EXO's D.O. has outpaced "Pinocchio" star Lee Jong Suk for the lead in the Most Popular Actor in Television category. At the time of print, D.O. leads the category with 59.01 percent of votes. He attracted attention with his stirring portrayal of Han Kang Woo in the 2014 psychological drama, "It's Okay, That's Love." The role followed his acting debut as Choi Tae Young in the film, "Cart."

There are less than 2 days remaining in the popular vote for the upcoming Baeksang Arts Awards. The ceremony will be held on May 26 at Peace Palace Hall in Kyung Hee University.
