Korean actress Jo Min Soo was awarded at the 7th Asian Film Awards.

Actress Jo Min Soo was the only Korean actress owner of an award at the event that took place on Monday March 18th, in Hong Kong.

The actress won the People's Choice Award for My Favorite Actress for her role in the movie “Pieta.”

In “Pieta” she plays the role of Jang Mi Sun, a woman who claims to be the mother a brutal loan shark, and thanks to her persistent love, he changes.

The awards which were organized by the Hong Kong International Film Festival, are held to recognize the cinematography of Asian countries.

On this night, the Chinese film “Mystery” was the grand winner, taking home the Best Film, the Best Screenwriter and the Best Newcomer awards.

“Pieta” who follows the strange and sometimes sexual relationship between the cold blooded loan shark and his “mother” has proven to be one of the most successful Korean movie internationally.

The movie has won top prizes in various recognized film festivals like the ones in Venice, Berlin, Cannes, and more than 20 prizes in all.

The movie was released in South Korea on September 6, 2012, and will be released in North America on May 17th 2013.
