OS X El Capitan Beta Reveals Apple's Plans For A New iMac And Bluetooth Remote! Will The Gadget Have An Input For The Future Apple TV?

Apple's recently released second developer preview of its upcoming desktop operating system known as El Capitan features a few Easter eggs hidden in its codes as it hints at possible new products on the way.

According to reports on 9to5Mac, the latest release of the OS X El Capitan beta for developers conceals hint to a pair of future Apple hardware products including a new 4K version of the 21.5-inch iMac as well as a new Bluetooth Remote control.

A new file called "AppleBluetoothRemote.kext" found within the beta platform, hints that Cupertino is working on a Bluetooth remote control.

As far as the fancy new remote is concerned, it's said to be building for an upcoming revamp of the Apple TV, and codes appear to indicate that it has an infrared sensor. This basically implies that it works like a normal TV remote, has a Multi-Touch track pad, and potentially Force Touch support. In addition, it is also believed to have some sort of audio support as well, however it is unclear if that indicates audio playback or the ability to dictate to Siri, The Verge noted.

The file does not exist in earlier public versions of OS X, or even the OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite release that is also in beta. However, 9To5mac's analysis of the files did not turn up any direct Apple TV reference.

Some very telling references point out to a future hardware that adds support for an Apple-made 4,096 x 2,304 resolution display.

Considering that there is already a 27-inch 5K iMac, there is a possibility that line of code might be meant for a 21.5-inch Retina iMac. Additional references to Intel's new Broadwell Iris graphics processor along with four new AMD Radeon processors (M380, M390, M395 and M395X) back that possibility.

It is not usual for Apple's plans to leak through its beta code, but this has happened few times in recent years and it seems to be unintentional.
