TOP fans, who enjoyed seeing the idol act in the series "Iris" and the film "Nineteen," may be happy to learn that his new movie, "Commitment" will be shown in American and Canadian theaters this fall.

The film is getting international release and will be distributed in North America by the film distribution company, Well Go USA!

"Commitment," also known as "Alumni" or "The Graduate," is a spy thriller and a love story. TOP (Choi Seung Hyun) plays Myung Hoon, a 19-year-old North Korean who was born to a wealthy family and dreamed of becoming a pianist. When his father, an ex-North Korean agent, dies, after being unjustly accused of a crime, Myung Hoon is forced to become an assassin to protect his sister.

Myung Hoon is not a trained assassin, nor is he an enthusiastic killer, but he cannot let his sister suffer.

He travels to South Korea where he is assigned targets to kill. On his lonely and difficult assignment, he becomes friends with Hye In, played by Han Ye Ri. She's a victim of bullying who has the same name as his sister. They can relate on many levels.

"A lonely boy meets a lonely girl, get to know each other and complete each other," said the director Park Hong Soo, who previously worked on "Secret Reunion" and "All About My Wife."

The friendship between these two lonely students grows closer but its development is endangered by the conflict between the opposing governments of the divided peninsula.

According to Park Eun Gyeong, the CEO of the film's production company, The Lamp, "Commitment" is not about political beliefs.

"This film is about third generation Koreans since the division of the peninsula," said Park. "The historical events that the two characters did not directly experience nevertheless change their lives and destinies."

TOP, who made his acting debut in the 2007 KBS drama, "I Am Sam," said he was attracted to the character of Myung Hoon because, "he embodies both the traits of a serial killer and the purity of a young high school student."

And according to his director, he has done a good job of expressing the characters inner conflicts.

"Choi is excellent at expressing emotions," said Director Park and he is sure that this film will show that the popular idol and BIGBANG member is also an excellent actor.

Filming ended in January. Currently in post-production, the film will be distributed in North America, German-speaking Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Cambodia.
