On August 31, the Korean outlet My Daily published a report which announced the possible casting of Girls' Generation member Yuri (Kwon Yuri) in the upcoming OCN series, "Neighborhood Hero." According to the article, the decision to cast Yuri is currently in the stages where her commitments are being analyzed against the production schedule.

If she accepts the project, she will appear opposite Park Si Hoo.

Park became embroiled in controversy in February 2013 when he was accused of alleged sexual assault against a 22-year-old aspiring actress. In May 2013, charges against Park were dropped when the woman who was the alleged victim withdrew her claims against the actor.

The actor halted his promotional activities in 2013 but attempted to return to Korean drama with a role in the KBS series, "Golden Cross." Following public outrage, the Korea Entertainment Management Association determined that viewers were not ready for his return to television. "Neighborhood Hero" will mark his return to Korean entertainment, following his two-year absence.

Netizens delivered strong reactions to reports that Yuri could appear opposite Park, in the series.

According to the forum Netizen Buzz, one of the top trending comments on the My Daily article questioned the decision for the K-pop idol to appear opposite the controversial actor. "Of all people, why Park Shi Hoo," questioned the commenter.

Yuri debuted in K-Drama with a supporting role in the KBS series, "Unstoppable Marriage." Her first starring role was in the melodrama, "Fashion King," which drew criticism for its plot devices and low ratings. However, her role in the series yielded the New Star Award at the 2012 SBS Drama Awards and Most Popular Actress in TV honors at the 49th Baeksang Arts Awards.

The 25-year-old K-pop idol is currently promoting the recent Girls' Generation release, "Lion Heart," which was preceded by a performance in the New York metropolitan area for KCON NY.
