Friends or enemies? What exactly are actor Lee Jong Suk and singer/actress IU to each other?

They are friends, but that has not always been the case. On a recent episode of the show "Incarnation," Lee Jong Suk was asked how he really felt about IU. He had to admit that while they were now close friends, there was a time she really got on his nerves.

They first met when they were emcees for the show "Inkigayo."

"She has a cute image and people really loved her but there were times when I didn't like her at all back then," said Lee Jong Suk.

People noticed that the two never spoke to each other when the cameras were turned off. That's when the rumors started. And there was some truth to them. Lee was not a fan of IU's costume ideas, which he considered childish.

"She would suggest ideas like 'Let's dress up like Peter Pan' to the writers and I would have to dress up too," said Lee. "I was a bit annoyed. We even dressed up as snowmen. I didn't like bouncing around and stuff like that so I was later told I acted rudely."

He tried to speak to the writers about it and when she found out, she was upset with him. They kept a respectful distance from each other.
But when he was about to leave the show, he was surprised to feel sad that he would not see her again.

"When it was all over, I was so sad," said Lee Jong Suk. "After I stepped down as an emcee, I kept in touch with IU. We told each other about the things that upset us and that's how we became close. Now, she's one of my few close friends."

The two have never worked together in a drama, but fans say they would make a cute couple, so maybe some casting director may want to consider this.

IU appeared in "Dream High" and is being praised for her performance as the lead character in the drama "You're the Best Lee Soon Shin."

Lee Jong Suk had roles in "Prosecutor Princess," "Secret Garden" and "High Kick: Revenge of the Short-Legged." He has a role in the upcoming drama, "I Hear Your Voice." He will play Park Soo Ha, a boy with the supernatural ability to read other people's thoughts. This talent comes in handy when he encounters a lawyer, who represents cases that are thought of as lost causes.

Hopefully, IU will not be making costume recommendations for any of his future roles and the two can remain good friends.
