South Korean actor-singer Kim Min Jong has issued a firm public statement denying allegations circulating online following controversial claims made by rapper and producer MC Mong during a recent livestream.
Koreaboo reported that according to Kim's legal representatives, false rumors and malicious accusations regarding the entertainer's private life have spread rapidly across online communities, social media platforms, and several sensationalist media outlets in recent days. The legal team said the speculation has caused significant damage to the actor-singer's public image and reputation.
"Recently, baseless rumors about the private life of singer and actor Kim Min Jong, as well as malicious allegations, have been spreading indiscriminately," the statement read. "As a result, the reputation of the artist, who has been greatly loved by the public, has been severely damaged."
As per OSEN, the statement comes shortly after MC Mong addressed ongoing controversies surrounding himself during a live broadcast. During the stream, the rapper claimed to possess recordings, reports, and text messages allegedly linked to a gambling group involving a well-known mid-level singer. He also referenced materials concerning women who were allegedly involved in prostitution activities connected to the singer.
Although MC Mong did not directly confirm identities during portions of the broadcast, online speculation quickly escalated, with Kim Min Jong's name becoming one of the subjects widely discussed across digital platforms.
Kim's representatives strongly rejected all claims tied to the actor, stating that every allegation currently being circulated online is entirely false.
The legal team added that Kim views the situation with great sorrow and distress and is treating the matter seriously due to the confusion and concern caused among fans and the public.
"Mr. Kim is determined to confront this head-on without any compromise to prove his integrity," the statement continued. "We plan to verify the specific claims made by the parties involved and will pursue necessary civil and criminal legal actions against them."
Through his legal counsel, Kim also addressed supporters directly, expressing gratitude to fans who have continued to stand by him amid the controversy.
"I will act with caution so as not to disappoint those who have trusted and supported me for a long time," Kim said. "I sincerely thank everyone who is worried and waiting."
The controversy has sparked intense discussion online, with fans and industry observers closely monitoring whether further evidence or legal developments will emerge in the coming days.
