What Won Bin's Mom Thinks About His Dating Lee Na Young

Newspaper reporters learned about the relationship between actor Won Bin and actress Lee Na Young before his mother did but she doesn't seem too upset about it.

Reporters followed the actor around for weeks. They staked out Lee Na Young's apartment eventually gathering enough photographs to prove the couple was having a relationship.

At first the actor's agency denied the relationship but when the newspaper published its photographs, they had to confirm it. They not only said the couple had been dating for about eight months but stated that Won Bin was head-over-heels in love with Lee Na Young. The couple apparently met when Lee Na Young joined Eden 9 the same talent agency that the actor is signed with. She signed on with the agency two years ago.

Won Bin's mother found out that her son was dating the actress when her neighbors read the newspaper reports and called her. Reporters wondered what her reaction would be so they headed to the actor's hometown.

When they asked her what she thought about the relationship, Won Bin's mother said, "I didn't know he was seeing Lee Na Young. Whether he dates her or they get married, I believe he will make a good choice."

Not only did his mother not know about the relationship, she was not sure who Lee Na Young was.

In a recent interview she explained, "I was not sure who she was because I don't watch a lot of TV. But I did recently see her for the first time and she is very pretty."

Lee Na Young appeared in the dramas "The Fugitive: Plan B," and "High Kick Through The Roof," as well as the films "Howling" and "Lady Daddy." Won Bin became well known after he starred in the drama "Autumn in My Heart" and the films "The Man From Nowhere" and "Mother."

His own mother did not seem upset that her son had not kept her up to date on his love life.

"Honestly, we don't talk about things like that," she said. "We hardly even talk on the phone because he's so busy."

Nor does she plan to interfere with their relationship in any way.

"They will do whatever they please," she said.

It's a good thing the couple's relationship is not happening in a kdrama, because it is hard to imagine the typical kdrama mom reacting so coolly to the news that her son was serious about someone she did not even know.
