Cha Seung Won "Paternal Love" With "Cheer Up, Mr. Lee"

The film revolves around the story of a man who may look like perfect outside, given his attractive visuals and physique, but behind this perfection is the slow-witted Cheol Soo (played by Cha Seung Won). He then met, Saet Byeol (Um Chae Young), her daughter who appeared on his life suddenly. Saet Byeol has a sickness. Cheol Soo's life will then change upon the progress of their father-daughter relationship.

In his interview, the actor shared how he portrays his character.

"I am playing the role of a character that has an intellectual disability due to an accident, which makes me slow-witted. Before the shooting, I look at various materials to play the role properly. Since I am a father with a daughter, I felt it is easier to share my feelings with my mother."

He also added," If I was single or had no children, I will not be able to express myself. Well, my daughter does not respond at all to being a celebrity. They prefer singers who are far from what I am doing."

In the movie, the actor gained a lot of positive feedback for showing the perfect portrayal of a father who loves his daughter. The "Paternal Love" which Actor Cha Seung Won showed his label, "the actor with healing emotions."

Back to his interview, Cha Seung Won also shared to the viewers and fans that though his past films mobilized millions of moviegoers through the category of Comedy film, Seung Won was not satisfied with his performance as well as worried that viewers as well will find his movies not funny or less funny. He then explained why the films maybe comedy but the comic element is weak.

Furthermore, the actor said that he always chooses the projects that seem to become a hit but then he also assures that he carefully choose those that will relate to him as a person as well.

On the other hand, the actor wrapped up his interview by saying that he wants to continue doing various projects, as well as stay as the calm person he is despite his age. He also promises to maintain his mental health and physical health healthy for the fans and his supporters.
