Per AllKopop, among the notable announcements made by SBS during its recent drama media event dubbed "SBS Drama: Next Episode," where it highlighted its future line-up of programs, "DASH" immediately became one of the most talked about shows.

Studio S's CEO Hong Sung Chang is quite optimistic about the drama, having labeled it SBS's "ultimate secret weapon drama" for next year.

"DASH," set for release in the first six months of 2027 after the "Nine to Six" Wednesday-Thursday drama, will also make its debut through Netflix South Korea.

"Dash" mentioned in Chosun Daily is just one of the many drama shows SBS aired to improve the quality of its drama shows every week. In the event, SBS Programming Director Kim Gi Suk made the official announcement about the appointment of Shin as one of the main characters and the company's strategy to venture into weekday dramas following its success in weekend dramas.

The drama is centered on Min Hwa Young, who serves as the head prosecutor of Special Investigation Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. Despite all the political pressure Min has endured throughout her career, she now faces the biggest challenge of her life, as her husband stands accused of murder.

Legal thriller/crime/drama/romance drama revolves around Min, as she struggles between doing her job and her emotional feelings. It promises to be psychologically suspenseful, as she tries to find answers while doubting her love for the man.

It represents a turning point in the career of actress Shin, who will reunite with SBS for the first time in nearly nine years since working on the series "Still 17" and the special drama, "The Hymn of Death."

It follows a series of successes that have strengthened her reputation as one of the most talented actresses in Korea. This year alone, she drew much attention through "The Art of Sarah" in Netflix and "Filing for Love" in tvN, the latter ending with much fanfare.

Industry experts think that the casting of Shin is the reason why "DASH" is generating so much buzz. Versatile in portraying various genres like romance, comedy, fantasy, and thriller, she stands out for her ability to act complicated characters.

Some of the dramas where she shone brightly include "Stranger," "Mr. Queen" and "Dear Hyeri" demonstrated both dramatic range and strong command of demanding scripts.

Joining Shin is actor Kim Jun Han, whose previous credits include "Hospital Playlist," "Anna" and "Good Partner." There are also reports that actor Kim Seo Hyung has been in discussions about joining the drama series, creating some excitement for drama lovers.

SBS appears eager to turn "DASH" into one of its signature dramas for 2027 with a lead actress, a star-studded cast and a story about murders, justice and betrayal.
