In the recent scandal about the hidden camera found in one of KBS bathrooms, the person responsible turned himself in.

Police began their investigation upon discovering the hidden camera in the women's restroom in KBS station. According to what reports, the hidden camera looks like a small portable charger.

Later, they found out it was not live streaming. Instead, it was just a storage device. The hidden camera was found in what used to be an apartment complex. The building is where the cast of "Gag Concert" practices. On the day that the camera was found was their final rehearsal before the show goes on hiatus.

KBS employees were ashamed and enraged of this matter. According to the initial report, the culprit was an employee of KBS, but the station initially denied the allegations. As a matter of fact, the culprit was a gagman or a comedian, and appears on the "Gag Concert."

"A" actually debuted after passing KBS's audition way back July of 2018. When his one-year contract ended, he began working as a freelancer.

According to Chosun Ilbo, "After the hidden camera was found inside KBS's women's bathroom, the culprit turned himself in to the police, and he was confirmed to be a gagman who used to work at KBS. "A" passed KBS's audition in July 2018 and appeared on broadcast since then."

Authorities also stated that the person responsible for this illegal activity will be booked for charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes.

In response to these criminal acts, Seoul had already launched a special squad of women inspectors last year. They will be conducting regular inspections of the city's more than 20,000 public toilets in search for spy cameras and were considered by some superficial.

Women and even companies and government agencies have been fighting the hidden camera-related incidents through several measures.

To ease women's discomfort, some companies started selling portable detection cards with a layer of red cellophane paper, which can be used with a smartphone. All they have to do is to attach the card to the smartphone camera lens: they turn on the flash of their camera and take a photo of a spot that looks suspicious. The picture will show a bright flashing dot that indicates the location lens of the spy camera.
