Recently, BLACKPINK member Jisoo has been in the news a lot because her older brother's name was in the credits for her Netflix show, "Boyfriend on Demand," This has sparked a lot of online discussion because the brother is currently involved in legal issues that have nothing to do with Jisoo's career.

Jisoo's agency, BLISSOO, issued an official statement on April 20 to address the concerns. The statement emphasized that the issues surrounding Jisoo's brother are "completely unrelated to the artist."

The agency added, "The artist began her trainee life at a young age and lived apart from her family for a long time, so we are in a situation where we are unaware or unable to intervene in the private life of the person in question," according to Koreaboo.

Despite this clarification, netizens raised questions about why her brother was credited as "Management representative Kim Jung Hoon" in the production credits for "Boyfriend on Demand". Many demanded further explanation due to the apparent contradiction between the agency's distancing and his formal credit.

Netizens in the online community had different opinions. Some people defended Jisoo and said "She shouldn't be held responsible for what her brother did."

One comment on the forum theqoo highlighted the timeline, "The drama was filmed from October 2024 to May 2025, and the incident with her brother was exposed in late May. They stated that the person in question has no legal or managerial connection with BLISSOO. It's not like Jisoo did anything wrong, and she made it clear she won't be helping legally or financially in the future. Why is everyone bashing her?" one comment said.

Another user explained the early involvement of Jisoo's brother during the agency's formation, "The statement revealed they received help during the agency's early days and that the filming of the drama overlapped with the establishment of the company. They've already cut ties and have drawn a clear line they won't support financially."

However, some netizens expressed disappointment regarding the legal situation involving Jisoo's brother. A readers stated, "It's true her brother earned money because of her. It's disappointing that they released legal action without him showing any signs of an apology."

The controversy intensified as reports emerged that Jisoo's older brother was arrested on charges related to inappropriate physical contact, though the prosecution later rejected his arrest. Additionally, a woman identifying herself as "B," purportedly his wife, came forward accusing him of domestic violence.

BLISSOO maintains that Jisoo has severed ties with her brother and clarified that she will not be providing any legal or financial support going forward. Many people still defend the artist, saying that she shouldn't be held responsible for family matters that are out of her control.
