Son Ye Jin has "crashed landed" in the Philippines!
#MakeYourMark is Smart Communications' newest campaign slogan for Smart Signature. And you heard it right, our beloved actress who starred as Yoon Se Ri in CLOY, is the newest face of SMART!
From Korean food to Korean style, no doubt Philippines is one of the countries greatly influenced by the Korean wave. Filipinos are without a doubt big fans of not only K-pop but especially Korean dramas.
The hit series "Crash Landing On You," starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, made Filipino fans head over heels with their extraordinary love tandem. Their unconventional relationship led to a plan of even having a remake in the Philippines, but it has not been pursued yet.
Tagged as 2020's most beautiful woman, Son Ye Jin, though nearing her forties, still has that wow factor. Who could not agree more?
In an interview, Son Ye Jin expressed her thanks with a message, "As an actress, I am always grateful and thankful for having a platform to entertain and inspire the lives of others through my passion. I would like to thank Smart for giving me an opportunity to specifically reach out to my Filipino fans and inspire them to make a mark in whatever path that they have chosen. I wish to see you all soon."
Son Ye Jin is surely an influencer. And being labeled as the "Queen of Melodramas" in South Korea, no wonder, she became the newest endorser of Smart Communications, which is one of the largest telecommunications company in the Philippines. Filipino celecbrities like Anne Curtis and Kim Chiu even bought the same sunglasses worn by Yoon Se Ri in the series, proving her impact.
As of press time, many Filipino fans still can't get over with Yoon Se Ri and Captain Ri's (Hyun Bin) love story, with many still wishing for CLOY sequel.
Hyun Bin made headlines when he became the newest brand ambassador for Smart last June and fans were very happy and excited at the same time. Now here comes Son Ye Jin, and it looks like the two will have a so-called mini-series of their own as the joint-forces is definitely unbreakable.
According to Jane J. Basas, the Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Wireless Business of Smart Communications, she wants to highlight, "Son Ye Jin's appeal among Filipinos is undeniable and the Korean wave have swept the Filipino community and Smart is thrilled to fulfill their wish. This is one way of supporting the Hallyu passion of their customer who has been trusting the network so they can binge-watch the latest K-dramas, watch online stream of K-pop hits and stay updated of their Korean idols."
Furthermore, she added, "More than this, we know Son Ye Jin embodies the Smart Signature brand as it simplifies the postpaid experience so customers can make their mark in their career or passion."
Truly, Filipinos have been very welcoming with Koreans. We cannot deny that kimchi down to sampgyusal Korean dish is now a very common term for Filipinos.
