Hollywood Actress Inspired By Son Ye Jin's Coat in 'Crash Landing On You'
We still can't get over with the hit tvN drama 'Crash Landing on You' since it has been steadily gaining popularity not only in South Korea but overseas as well. It has already been 10 months since the conclusion of the show but still, people can't stop talking about the drama series.
'Crash Landing on You' is a romantic drama that talks about two characters living in an opposite worlds. Lead actress Son Ye Jin portrays the character of Yoon Se Ri, a wealthy conglomerate heiress who crash lands in North Korea due to a paragliding accident. Hyun Bin on the other hand starred as Captain Ri Jung Hyuk, North Korean military officer who tries to hide and protect Se Ri in North Korea. As the story continues,the two characters eventually fell in love.
The drama was broadcasted from December 2019 until February 2020 and gain worldwide love from its viewers. Not to mention the last episode of the reunion between Se Ri and Captain Ri recorded a 21.683% in ratings based on Nielsen Korea. Then it was released on Netflix overseas and gained massive popularity. Even 10 months after the show concluded, it sill consistently ranks in the top 10 most viewed contents in Japan!
Previously, in theJapanese weekday morning talk program, 'Asaichi' which airs on NHK General Television, it released a story containing the special wishes of Japanese fans that states: , ''I want to become Hyun Bin's housekeeper.'' , There are a lot of women who have fallen for Hyun bin's character, a hot man who tries to protect the woman he loves. There are a lot of women who have become fans of Hyun bin through this drama."
Another proof that the drama is a massive hit overseas is, Son Ye jin's splendid fashion sense in the series that captured the attention of a Hollywood actress, January Jones. She is an American actress and model,widely recognized for her portrayal as Betty Draper in Mad Men (2007-2015), for which she was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress - Television Series Drama and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.The Hollywood actress is also famous for her films such as American Wedding (2003), We Are Marshall (2006), The Boat That Rocked (2009), Unknown (2011), Seeking Justice (2011) and X-Men: First Class (2011).
January Jones just recently uploaded a photo of her wearing the same coat of Son Ye Jin in the drama 'Crash Landing On You'. She posted a side by side photo of her and Son Ye Jin and captioned it with "I love Yoon Se Ri and Ri Jung Hyuk" on her instagram account. She also posted a poster picture of'Crash Landing on You" in which she posted the caption "I've never been in love like this."
The popularity of 'Crash Landing On You' is expected to continues in the future. This is a good sign that Korean Drama still continues to be popular in overseas .
