Actress and singer Bae Su-ji, professionally known as Suzy, was born in Buk District, Gwangju, South Korea on October 10, 1994. The singer and actress auditioned for Mnet Superstar K in 2009 and was able to pass the preliminary round but unfortunately was eliminated. However, she attracted one scout from JYP Entertainment and soon became a trainee there.
A year later (2010), Suzy became a member of the newly formed group miss A. Following this, she started hosting music shows and was able to showcase her talent in acting when she made her acting debut through the smash-hit series Dream High (along with IU and Kim Soo-Hyun). Since then, Suzy has been receiving several commercial films and endorsements, and today, she is considered as one of the most in-demand Hallyu (Korean Wave) stars.
