Kwon Nara Becomes an Attractive Gisaeng in Historical Drama 'Secret Royal Inspector'
The KBS network's upcoming drama titled "Secret Royal Inspector" has unveiled a sneak peek of Kwon Nara's beautiful character!
"Secret Royal Inspector" is a comic mystery drama that is set Set towards the end of the Joseon era. It will tell the story of the secret royal inspector who goes undercover in the provinces to bring justice, uncover corruption, and solve the people's problems. Actor Kim Myung Soo will Portray the character of Sung Yi Gyeom, who works as the Hongmungwan (administrative and research department). He has no dreams or ambitions in life and likes to go gambling. One day he was caught doing the illegal deed and was punished. He is then assigned to work as a secret royal inspector. His responsibility is to take down illegal acts and corruption by public officers.
On the other hand, actress Kwon Na-Ra will portray the character of Hong Da-In, an attractive and spirited gisaeng (a courtesan trained in music and the arts) who turns out to be a damo (a woman who works for a Joseon government office) working as an undercover. Hong Da In is known for possessing beauty and vigor. Still, she only needs the title of gisaeng to hide her true identity and to be able to accomplish her mission to uncover the wrongdoings of aristocrats.
A secret royal inspector was a real government position during the Joseon dynasty. The king specially appointed it.
Hong Da In is truly a daughter of royalty; however, she kept her real identity because of the tragic family history that she experienced during her childhood. She eventually joins a team led by the new special royal inspector Sung Yi Kyung (Kim Myung Soo) .
In the newly released photos, Hong Da In demonstrates an attractive beauty that proves the rumors that circulated describing her as the Joseon dynasty's greatest gisaeng. The stills showcase her beautiful visuals wearing a red jeogori (Korean traditional clothes) that emphasizes her gracefulness.
In another photo, she seems like standing in front of someone with a cold look on her face that looks down upon the other. Her hands are crossed making us feel that she is not pleased with something. Her aura gives out a fierce and unapproachable personality.
Fans have high anticipation with Kwon Nara's transformation into a secret royal inspector and everyone is quite excited for this drama. "Secret Royal Inspector" is scheduled to premiere in December!
South Korean singer and actress Kwon Na-ra is famously known by her stage name Nara. When she was in middle school, the singer and actress became a trainee for Fantagio Entertainment. She then joined girl group Hello Venus as a founding member where she went by the stage name "Nara".
Fast forward to 2020, Kwon Nara starred in JTBC drama Itaewon Class which is based on the webtoon of the same title. The series was success not only in South Korean but also worldwide which became the seventh highest-rated Korean dramas in cable television history.
