Lee Seung Gi Reveals His Role Model is The Male Version of IU
Vagabond actor Lee Seung Gi shares that he dreams of becoming a K-pop idol like IU. He also shares how he admires the singer and actress. On Monday, Nov. 16, the actor expressed his thoughts and feelings about his latest comeback as a singer on NAVER NOW's radio show titled "Lee Seung Gi's Ordinary Man."
On the show, Lee Seung Gi called the famous singer and actress IU to greet her. When the K-pop idol answered the call, Lee Seung Gi immediately told her, "I greatly respect you, IU. My role model is the male version of you, and this is not a joke." The actor also expressed his gratitude towards IU saying, "I am also truly grateful for what you did for me in the past. You're an amazing person." He then explained, "When I was serving the military, she went to my military base and performed six songs for everyone."
IU laughed and thanked the actor, afterwards, she shared her thoughts about his pre-release song "The Ordinary Man." IU stated, "I felt happy when I listened to the 'The Ordinary Man' since it is a ballad track." She added, "A lot of people are into traditional ballad tracks in a season like this, and I feel like it's an emotionally satisfying song."
Lee Seung Gi's seventh album is scheduled to be released next month, and the actor's fans are excited. It had also already been five years since he last released a music album.
The South Korean singer, actor, host, and entertainer was born on January 13, 1987. The 33-year-old celebrity released numerous hit songs as a singer such as "Because You're My Woman," "Will You Marry Me," and "Return." Lee Seung Gi eventually tried his luck in acting and rose to popularity not. just in Asia but all over the world, with leading roles in dramas such as Brilliant Legacy (2009), My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox (2010), The King 2 Hearts (2012), Gu Family Book (2013), You're All Surrounded (2014), A Korean Odyssey (2017-2018), and Vagabond (2019).
In 2010 Lee Seung Gi was included in "Forbes Korea Power Celebrity" list at seventh place, subsequently ranking fourth in 2011 and sixth in 2012 and 2015. His television dramas that aired overseas also became instant hits which established the actor's career as a top Hallyu star.
The actor is also famous for his unstained and positive image. Because of this, he was tagged as the "Nation's umchina" and "Nation's Little Brother." Lee Seung Gi is currently one of the most in-demand and sought-after commercial models and celebrity endorsers in South Korea. He endorses an immense variety of products and services.
Lee Seung Gi was also chosen by Samsung to be one of the torchbearers in the "2012 London Summer Olympics Torch Relay." Additionally, on October 20, 2012, the actor was chosen by the National Election Commission of South Korea as the "Honorary Online Ambassador" of the nation's campaign for a fair and clean presidential election.
