BLACKPINK Jisoo & Jung Hae In’s Upcoming Drama ‘Snowdrop’ Pauses Filming for the Safety of All

According to the report, the filming of JTBC's forthcoming drama "Snowdrop," starring BLACKPINK's Jisoo and Jung Hae In, has been paused since Nov. 23 when a supporting actor potentially had close contact with a COVID-19 positive while filming on the set of another drama.  

The supporting actor informed immediately the production team of "Snowdrop" about his said encounter. He underwent testing, and now waiting for the results. He is also said to be in a self-quarantine.

An official statement from JTBC was released amidst of the said happening.

"We have confirmed that there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus within the Snowdrop team, but there is an extra actor who was in close contact with a confirmed case.

We have temporarily suspended filming to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and for the safety of all our team. We are waiting for the results of the test."

The staff and production members who had a close contact with the supporting actor voluntarily proceed for a COVID-19 testing, for the safety of each and everyone in the set.

The filming date will resume until further noticed.

"Snowdrop" is a much-awaited drama and is gaining a lot of attention for this will be the first acting project of one of the members of the well-known K-pop girl group BLAKCPINK, Kim Jisoo. The singer, through the drama, will show the other side of her as an artist.

"Snowdrop" is a drama that is set in 1987 when a dictatorial government-led South Korea.  

The story will start when a male university student named Im Soo Ho (played by Jung Hae In) ends up in a women's dormitory at Hosoo Women's University, where he met Eun Young Cho (Kim Jisoo). The male student is covered in blood and is seeking help. He is nowhere to go, not until Eun Young Cho finds him and humbly helped him. After their encounter, they develop romantic feelings for each other.

Im Soo Hoo is a charismatic yet mysterious Korean-German who graduated from a prestigious university.  

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Jisoo's character Eun Yong Cho is a first-year college student at Hosoo Women's University, pursuing a major in English literature.Joining them is Kim Hye Yoon, who is known for her role in the drama "Extraordinary You." She will be playing as Kye Boon Ok, who gave up her dream of entering university due to financial problems. She works as a telephone operator at a women's dormitory. 

Meanwhile, Jang Seung Jo will be playing the role of Lee Kang Moo, a leader of team 1 NSP (National Security Planning). He is a man of principle and is dedicated to his work.

"Snowdrop" is written by Yoo Hyun Min and will be directed by Jo Hyun Tak. It is scheduled to air in 2021.
