Shin Min Ah Gives Donations and Continuous Support to Burn Patients
The 36-year-old actress Shin Min Ah has been continuously offering help to burn victims. As of this writing, a total of 114 burn patients have already received her support.
It all started in the year 2015. Shin Min Ah became active in supporting burn patients' treatments through the Hallym Burn Foundation, a social welfare corporation. The actress donated 100 million KRW (91,378 USD) every year since then for continuous support. A hundred and fourteen patients were already assisted for surgery treatment through the help of her donations.
The treatment is costly but because of consistent support from the actress, burn patients successfully managed to undergo various surgeries over the years. It also takes time for the skin tissue to recover after the surgery, but because these patients have low support from the public, they struggle financially and emotionally. After knowing the stories of the patients, Shin Min Ah voluntarily stepped up to help them out.
The actress is also quietly assisting people who are suffering from different circumstances, from children to the elderly, but she became more interested in those people who are relatively inaccessible.
Not just financially but also mentally and physically, Shin Min Ah comforts these patients and their families. She also gives medical expenses for the children outside Korea, such as in Cambodia and Mongolia.
The chairman of the Hallym Burn Foundation, Yoon Hyun Sook, shared his deepest gratitude towards the heroic act of the actress, "Burn patients acquired courage and hope through Shin Min Ah, she has been consistent in supporting our foundation for a long time. We passionately thank her for being a good role model as a public figure. I hope that her influence will receive appreciation during these difficult times."
In the case of burn patients, the symptoms depend on the burned injury level and depth. After several surgerie and treatment methods, most of the patients' results were successful. Therefore a simple help to the burn patients is greatly appreciated and will really allow them to live a normal life again.
As of year 2019, according to National Health Insurance Services the numbers of incident rate of burn patients in Korea was over 610,000. Patients experience severe psychological and emotional problems, their body conditions are also greatly affected due to the sudden accident. Because of these, the families of the patients are also at advised to support their loved ones. So they experience a lot of difficulties in adjusting with expensive treatment and medicines needed to support the patients.
The "Oh My Venus" actress wants to give all the support and love that she has been receiving from fans through donating and constantly supporting those who are in need.
Shin Min Ah is a true angel not just to her fans but also to people who are in deep pain.
