The Korean wave has been dominating the world, and here are the proofs!

There are no boundaries when it comes to arts and entertainment. These are the things we enjoy having and can relate ourselves into. Starting from small, the Hallyu wave has been dominating not just in Asia but also some of the biggest countries in the world.

2021 Overseas Korean Wave Survey Announces Most Popular Korean Actors and K-Dramas

In a recent international survey, familiar names and content in the Korean entertainment were mentioned for being the most influential among the international market.

The 2021 Overseas Korean Wave Survey was released by the South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Foundation for International Culture Exchange on Jan 28. And according to them, most of the people who took part in the survey and are Korean content consumers were from 18 different countries. The United States, China, and Japan are among those countries who have a number of consumers.

The online survey was conducted from September 24 to November 4, 2020. The respondents were asked various questions regarding the Korean contents, from dramas, variety shows, movies, music, and everything that involves the Korean wave also known as the Hallyu wave.

Lee Min Ho, "Crash Landing on You," and More Recognized by the International Survey

For the categories of Korean actors, "The King: Eternal Monarch" star Lee Min Ho achieves the number one spot as one of the favorite Korean stars, with 9.6 percent. "Crash Landing on You" actor Hyun Bin is in the second spot with 3.5 percent.

Gong Yoo, who starred in the smashing hit drama "Goblin," conquers the number three spot with an average of 2.3 percent. The only actress that made it to the top four is the "Descendants of the Sun" star Song Hye Kyo, with an average of 2.1 percent. Lee Jong Suk was able to be at the fifth spot garnering an average of 2 percent from the respondents.

Making it on the top of the list as the leading favorite Korean drama is 2020's romantic drama "Crash Landing on You," starring the reel-to-real couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin. They received an average score of 9.5 percent from the international audience.

Following them on the list is Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji's magnificent drama "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" that garnered an average score of 4.1 percent. The record-breaking dramas "The World of the Married" and "Itaewon Class" share the third spot with 2.8 percent, while Netflix's original series "Kingdom" made it to the number four spot with an average score of 2.5 percent.

These are just some of the achievements that the Korean entertainment  has been attaining throughout the years of producing quality content and cultivating such talented actors in the said industry.
