ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo to Possibly Join Seo Ye Ji & Kim Nam Gil in Forthcoming Fantasy Drama ‘Island’
ASTRO member and "True Beauty" actor Cha Eun Woo may return to the drama scene with a new exciting project!
After his successful portrayal as Lee Su Ho in the webtoon-based series "True Beauty," Cha Eun Woo is again considering a new potential project that is set to air this 2021. According to a media report on March 2, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo is in talks to star in OCN's forthcoming drama "Island."
ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo is Considering to Join in the Drama "Island"
In response to the news, the ASTRO member's home agency Fantiago released their statement "Our artist Cha Eun Woo received an offer to star in the upcoming drama 'Island' and he is positively reviewing it."
This will be Cha Eun Woo's next potential drama project following his romantic-comedy-drama "True Beauty," which was also based on webtoon. With his busy schedules from being an idol to being an actor, Cha Eun Woo is indeed one of the most hardworking young artists today. The year is just starting in, and the idol-turned-actor is always ready to make the most out of everything.

If the 24-year-old actor confirmed his participation in the project, he would be portraying the character of Kang Chan Hyuk, also known as John. A hip exorcist priest who grew up in the United States but is actually a Korean. In order for him not to forget his mother tongue, Kang Chan Hyuk immersed himself in watching Korean dramas. Even though he is a bright character, he hides some secrets from his dark past.

OCN's upcoming fantasy drama will depict the story of Pan, a man who needs a woman to end his cursed immortal life, and a daughter from a rich family named Won Mi Ho is being attacked by goblins. Pan and Won Mi Ho will then meet the exorcist priest John, who is still living with guilt after not being able to protect one girl from his past. The series takes place on an island that is known for having a beautiful and picturesque place, hiding an evil darkness that not everyone knows. The three characters who don't get along at first due to their differences will soon find the strength to help and protect each other against the evils.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, actor Kim Nam Gil and "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" star Seo Ye Ji confirmed to play the main leads as Pan and Won Mi Ho. It also has been reported before that Im Si Wan is in talks of considering the role of John, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
The fantasy drama "Island" will start filming this spring and is expected to kick off in the second half of 2021. Details about the other confirmed cast are yet to be announced in public soon.
