CONFIRMED: Namgoong Min, Park Ha Sun, & Kim Ji Eun to Star in MBC’s New Drama ‘Black Sun’
A new action drama is about to kick-off this 2021.
On March 4, MBC announced that the upcoming Korean spy-action drama "The Black Sun" is scheduled to air this summer and upon the release of the airing date, they also confirmed the cast lineup.
New Action Drama "Black Sun" Starring Actors Namgoong Min, Park Ha Sun, & Kim Ji Eun
Actors Namgoong Min, Park Ha Sun, and Kim Ji Eun will be the leading cast of the new MBC drama. They are also aiming to start the filming as early as this month. It has been said that "Black Sun'' is the most anticipated series in the second half of 2021, and would be produced by MBC and Wavve with an estimated budget of almost 15 billion won (13,328,604 million US dollar).
"Black Sun" will start from the story of a man who is the best field agent in NIS, who unexpectedly disappeared a year ago, and surprisingly returns to the organization and found out that the person behind why he disappeared was just in the same company where he works at. The said series will have a total of 12 episodes.
Actor Namgoong Min will be portraying the character of Han Ji Hyuk, the best field agent in town. He always impresses his colleagues with his ability on how he handles things on his own and perfectly done his duties as an agent. But, after an unexpected case happened, Han JI Hyuk also disappeared and is expected to return after a year and along his journey, he finally found out who the culprit is in the case that occurred a year ago.

Actress Park Ha Sun will be joining Namgoong Min in the cast as she will star as Seo Soo Yeon, head of the Crime Information Integration Center. The tension will increase after her colleagues find out that she has a close relationship with Han Ji Hyuk. After her role in the drama "Birthcare Center," she will be showing another side of her charm as a strong and fierce agent. She also said that it was an honor for her to join such a masterpiece, according to her "I am looking forward to showing you different images that I have never shown before. I will prepare myself so that I can meet you all with new and fresh character." Park Ha Sun expressed her excitement to be working again.
Meanwhile, Kim Ji Eun will be portraying the role of Jay Yoo, the partner agent of Han Ji Hyuk and a promising field agent in the NIS as a financial resource. She is said to have an appealing and unique character in the drama "Black Sun."
