Kwon Nara Says the Chemistry With INFINITE L Resulted In the Success of 'Royal Secret Agent'

Actress Kwon Nara remarked that the chemistry between her and INFINITE L is what led the "Royal Secret Agent" to success.

In an interview with No Cut News, which was released on April 12, Kwon Nara talked about her latest K-drama, "Royal Secret Agent." During the talks, she mentioned the show's success, which she believes is the result of her chemistry with INFINITE L.

"Royal Secret Agent" is a historical, comedy, detective drama that takes place in the Joseon dynasty. The television series is about a government position called a secret royal inspector who observes the corrupt officials in the government while staying undercover.

INFINITE L (Kim Myung Soo) played Sung Yi Kyum, the secret royal inspector who visited various provinces to hear the stories of locals, reveal corruption, and present justice. Meanwhile, Kwon Nara played Hong Da In, a woman working in the Joseon government office who hid her identity as she introduced herself as a courtesan specializing in music and arts.

"Royal Secret Agent" aired each Monday and Tuesday via KBS from Dec. 21, 2020, to Feb. 9, 2021. The K-drama saw remarkable ratings since January, with its highest viewership ratings being 14 percent nationwide for the final episode.

Chemistry with INFINITE L Led to the Success of "Royal Secret Agent," According to Kwon Nara

On April 12, No Cut News revealed the Q&A session they had with Kwon Nara. During the interview, they touched on the reason for the K-drama's success, and the actress stated that the chemistry between her and INFINITE L is probably the main factor.

Kwon Nara shared, "I was really close with him on set. There were lots of times when I would laugh with him while we film the scenes because we had that good chemistry. We had many fun times both on and off set. I laughed and enjoyed recording the drama more than any other projects."

The actress added that whenever they are having a hard time while filming, the three of them, including Lee Yi Kyung, would sing a song together. They would also ask for advice from each other and give opinions for certain scenes in the K-drama. And because of this, Kwon Nara commented, "I think this helped us complete every scene smoothly."

Kwon Nara Shares Her Similarities with Kim Myung Soo Helped Them Become Close Friends

The interviewer then opened up about the fact that Kwon Nara was an idol group member before, just like what Kim Myung Soo is at present, plus they have the same age. They commented that these might have been the reasons why the actress gets along with the actor well.

To this, Kwon Nara responded that a lot of sympathies were established between her and INFINITE L. She also revealed that she once performed on stage with him and that not only do they have a similar age, but they also have the same birthdays.

"I think these similarities led us to get closer with each other much faster. Myung Soo is an excellent actor and he always takes care of people around him. He is a very kind-hearted friend," Kwon Nara concluded.
