General Go Gun becomes a drunkard and doesn't go out of the house for years because of his grieving heart. On Dal, since his mother died in the palace during the war, also decided to leave the palace and stay in the mountains for good.

Through those years, he has been longing for the princess.

Meanwhile, Pyeonggang went to five battles in 4 years to keep her busy and occupied. Through the years, she remained brave and fierce. But this time, his younger brother is stronger than her when it comes to ruling their people. His brother Yeongyang (Kwon Hwa Woon) is the newly crowned king of Goguryeo.

Many doubted his capabilities. The pure and innocent crown prince before had turned into a dangerous and vengeful monarch.

He has been targeting Go Gun. It was still vivid to King Yeongyang how Go Gun betrayed the royal family years ago. That's why, now that he has all the power to rule the place, he wanted to make Go Gun pay for what he did to his family.

Love will always find its way back to two people genuinely in love with each other. On Dal and Pyeonggang held their tears and kept their distance because of the tragedy. And yet, they met again to rekindle their relationship as husband and wife.

The two had the chance to be with each other again. Pyeonggang decided to visit On Dal in the mountains. She thought he still holds a grudge against her because of his mother's death.

Surprisingly, On Dal couldn't hold back and rushed to ensconce the princess in a warm, tight embrace.

The next day, Pyeonggang went to see Go Gun. She relayed to him the king's message.

After some discussion, Go Gun confronted the princess and asked if she was the one who killed his father. Pyeonggang didn't hesitate to tell the truth.

It hurt Go Gun even more, knowing that the woman who was once a friend and who he used to love is the reason why he has been living in grief and anger for so long.
