Yunho Talks ‘Imitation' Role and Preparation + Did Actor Struggle With Acting Debut?

Yunho of Ateez will be making his acting debut very soon. This is why he recently took the time to talk about the series that might propel him to become a household name - as an actor, "Imitation," obviously both excited and apprehensive at the same time.

"Imitation," KBC's newest webtoon adaptation drama, will drop on May 7, showing to the world what it is like for aspiring idols in a very competitive South Korean entertainment industry.

Based on the teasers and posters released of the show, Yunho is certainly a character to watch out for because he has a certain sense of charm unseen in others.

Yunho will portray the character Yujim, the center of a supposedly popular boy group called "Sparkling." He has a soft appearance, and therefore, easier to undermine. But despite how he looks, he instead is someone with a high level of tenacity and strength hidden under all the gentle exterior.

Fans can therefore expect to find themselves rooting for him, whatever how his story unfolds, as he goes between charming and determined.

Yunho recently took to HelloKpop with this role and how he feels about making his acting debut and was completely humble about it. It did not matter that people already know him or that he already has his legion of fans, acting is new to him, and he wants his performance to not disappoint.

Actor Struggled with Acting Debut?

Yunho said he felt honored to be given a chance to do his first acting challenge with such a good project. He then thanked all the producers, directors, and writers for giving him this big opportunity. He added that for half a year working on the project and being with all the staff, he learned a lot. He also said that he has loads of pleasant memories that can last him a lifetime.

He then shared how he prepared for the role, claiming that because it was his first acting project, he really was careful about his pronunciation and facial expression.

According to the budding actor, the role he plays, Yujin, is someone "endlessly warm and soft on the outside, but has a level of persistence that is so high that he does not shy away from challenges to achieve his dream.

 He added that he finds the character very like himself in real life. His family and some friends also told him the same. With that said, he is excited to hear the verdict from the viewers themselves -if they think he and Yujin are alike.

Yunho did not hide the fact that there was a bit of awkwardness at first. However, the more he filmed with his co-stars Jung Ji So and Lee Jun Young, whom he described as people he has chemistry with, the awkwardness disappeared in time. The more they film, the more natural they become, because they are already used to each other.

Even though Jun Young plays his rival in the movie, Yunho claimed that off camera, the more mature and experienced actor gave him a lot of advice and tips.
