Announced back in January, fans who have been awaiting updates for "One Ordinary Day" can now know where and when to watch it. It seems that it might not be as easily accessible as other Korean thrillers out there.

If it is good enough, however, it will not even matter, as people will certainly flock to whatever platform it is showing.

"One Ordinary Day" Series: Where and When to Watch

The show is Coupang Play's first-ever exclusive content offering. Therefore, those who will become interested in the thriller, or who are always on the lookout for one, can watch it only on this platform. Coupang Play is a local streamer that is yet to gain traction compared to other platforms, so its first exclusive content should truly be something.

"As our first exclusive content offering, we will present a high-quality series to paid membership users," a Coupang Play official said in a statement. The show is set to premiere in November.

What is Coupang Play?

Coupang Play is the video streaming service of the e-commerce film Coupang. While Coupang is already known in South Korea, it is only just now that it has delved into the world of video streaming.

It has ambitious goals, as it plans to compete with both global and local streamers, which include the likes of Netflix and HBO. It will also compete with Wavve and Watcha Play, two popular local streaming services.

"One Ordinary Day" Cast and Plot

The new thriller will feature Kim Soo-Hyun and Cha Seung-won.

Kim will be playing a college student named Hyun-Soo. This character's life will be turned upside down when he is accused of committing a crime he has zero memory of. On the other hand, Cha will play the lawyer, Joong-Han, who will do everything he can to hel[Hyun Soo fight a complicated legal battle and secure justice for him.

Why is "One Ordinary Day" Worth Watching?

One Ordinary Day" may be original and exclusive content of Coupang Play, but it has a storyline that might be familiar to many, even those outside of Korea, particularly those living in Britain.

This is because "One Ordinary Day" is a remake of BBC's British series, "Criminal Justice." It will have a total of eight episodes, so it is not that long. It will revolve around a young man falsely accused of murder. The problem is, the man himself cannot remember anything, which makes defending himself complicated.

The original British series only had 5 episodes on the first season, so "One Ordinary Day" has three more extra episodes to probably fit in elements that are more suited for a Korean audience. The BBC show also has a second season. It remains to be seen if "One Ordinary Day" will get to have a second season, which probably depends on whether the first season will do well first.

The show is to be directed by Lee Myung-woo. The director already has a solid portfolio, including fine shows such as SBS's "The Fiery Priest," which was shown in 2019, as well as "Backstreet Rookie," which showed in 2020. These are fairly recent works that have showcased his directing skills.

"One Ordinary Day" is written by Kwon Soon-gyu, who also has an impressive script portfolio. His writing can be appreciated in SBS's "Warrior Baek Dong-soo" (2011) and "Jackpot" (2016).
