Fans of Rainbow's Jaekyung rejoice. She's joining the cast of the increasingly star-studded cast of the upcoming drama "The Devil Judge."

Rainbow's Jaekyung is the Newest "The Devil Judge" Cast Member

On May 12, the singer and actress' label Namoo Actors confirmed the happy news.

Jaekyung will be playing the role of an associate judge called Oh Jin Joo. Her character is described as being slightly villainous.

She is allegedly a trial court judge who may be good at her job but craves attention at the same time. She will end up being widely known and being placed in the spotlight by the media because she embodies both brains and beauty. Oh Jin Joo is quite like the actress, willing to fight for her dreams. The audience would see her fight to rise up the ranks.

The actress revealed how honored she is to be given a chance to be part of the show. She said it is a privilege to have a chance at working with a director, writer, and cast that are successful in their own right. I'm excited thinking about all the things I will learn on set. I hope to have a lot of fun filming and express this joy through the character of Oh Jin Joo," she said.

Jaekyung is a fairly new actress, but she's been in the entertainment scene for so much longer. She was the former leader of the girl group, "Rainbow," which comprised 7 female members.

In October 2016, DSP Media announced that Rainbow would have to be disbanded. At the time, they were already performing together for seven years. The agency said it was for no other reason than their contracts already expired. The individual members did not feel bad, though. Each of them branched out to their interests.

In particular, after the disbandment of Rainbow, Kim Jae-Kyung signed a contract with Namoo Actors to start anew as a full-time actress. She had been with the agency ever since and had done some solid dramas.

She even won the Best Supporting Actress award for "Bast Papa."

In November 2019, the disbanded Rainbow had a reunion for their tenth anniversary.

Everything We Know About "The Devil Judge"

The show was already star-studded even before Jaekyung joins it. Stars confirmed to be part of the drama are Ji Sung, Kim Min Jung, GOT7's Jinyoung, and Park Kyu Young, among others.

'The Devil Judge' sounds like a legal drama, but it is so much more than that. Instead, it has a fantasy, dystopian twist to it, something South Korea does quite well.

The plot revolves around a live legal court with viewers all over the nation having the ability to participate in the justice system. Law school students all over the world are likely to stay tuned to this. Who knows if one day the legal system becomes something similar in the future?

Jare will also be starring in the series.

"The Devil Judge" is set to premiere in the second half of 2021, which is already quite near.
