After three years, Red Velvet's Joy is making a comeback on the small screen with "Only One Person."

The 24-year-old celebrity, whose real name is Park Soo Young, is confirmed to join the cast of the new JTBC drama.

In a new report, the K-pop star is casted for the female lead role and set to play the role of Seong Mi Do.

"Only One Person" Rumored Cast

Apart from Red Velvet's Joy, Park Sung Hoon and "Hospital Playlist" actress Ahn Eun Jin are rumored to join the cast of the forthcoming melodrama.

In April, their respective agencies, BH Entertainment and Big Boss Entertainment revealed that their talents were courted to appear in  "Only One Person" and are currently reviewing the offer.

If the "Joseon Exorcist" actor agrees, he will portray the role of lead star Cho Shi Young while the 30-year-old actress' character will be Pyo In Sook.

Aside from the duo, veteran actress Go Doo Shim will be present as a supporting actor.

"Only One Person" Release and Synopsis

JTBC's new rom-com will be directed by Oh Hyun Jong, whose famous works include the smash hit "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" and "Find Me in Your Memory."

He will be working alongside "Police Class" screenwriter Moon Jung Min.

Interestingly, the forthcoming drama is slated to be released sometime in December 2021.

"Only One Person" follows the story of a terminally ill woman who was sentenced to the death penalty after murdering a bad guy. Her life completely changed after meeting Pyo In Sook, a very sensitive individual with unpredictable emotions.

On the other hand, there's Seong Mi Do, a famous influencer who is also on the verge of her death after battling a severe illness.

Meanwhile, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency inspector Jo Shi Young will witness how the trio's lives will intertwine and get caught up with their own dramas.

Red Velvet's Joy Solo Album

The upcoming Kdrama "Only One Person" will be Red Velvet's Joy's return after her three-year hiatus.

To recall, her last series was the 2018 youth drama "Tempted," where she played the role of Eun Tae Hee, alongside powerhouse cast Woo Do Hwan, Moon Ga Young, and Kim Min Jae.

As for her music career, the 24-year-old idol just released her solo album titled "Hello!" on May 31.

Fellow girl group members including Irene, Wendy, and Seulgi showed their support as seen on Red Velvet's Joy Instagram stories.

Unfortunately, Yeri missed the moment as she is filming her upcoming drama.

"The unnis came to cheer me on this early in the morning. Yerim [Yeri's real name] is filming her drama," she wrote.

Apart from her girl group sisters, Apink's Hayoung and GFRIEND's Yerin came to support Joy on her solo album.

"My friends came to cheer me on. Thank you!" Red Velvet's Joy Instagram caption reads.
