"Penthouse 3: War in Life" Tops the Most Buzzworthy Drama List

According to Good Data, "Penthouse 3" has once again landed the top spot for the most buzzworthy drama for the second week of June 2021.

This is based on the weekly analysis released by the company that determines the ranking of currently airing or soon to be released dramas from netizens' reactions through blog posts, online news, communities, social media videos, and more.

Amid the reign of the drama, "Penthouse 3" cast dropped in the list of most buzzworthy actors.

Lee Ji Ah, who plays Shim Su Ryeon, scored the eighth spot. This is a major dip from her previous ranking, where she landed in third place.

On the other hand, Park Eun Seok managed to squeeze in on top nine after being embroiled in a controversy.

To recall, "Penthouse 3" episode 2 was criticized and accused of racism and cultural appropriation.

It came after the 37-year-old actor's new character, who was introduced as Alex, Logan Lee's twin brother, wore long dreadlocks, face tattoos, and spoke with an African-American accent.

Several viewers pointed out that this is a mockery and an insult to the culture; however, the production team immediately set the record straight to clear the issue.

"There was no intention to make fun or mock a specific race or culture," a representative explained to OSEN.

"Penthouse 3: War in Life" was followed by "Youth of May" as the second most buzzworthy drama, while lead stars Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si came in second and sixth place as most buzzworthy actors.

This is also the week that the KBS melodrama aired its season finale.
