Hallyu queens like Song Hye Kyo, Jun Ji Hyun, Son Ye Jin, Lee Young Ae, Jeon Do Yeon, and more are set to make a comeback on the small screen this 2021. 

Interestingly, fans would get to see these A-listers reign the viewership rating and make a buzz on social media as several outlets previously confirmed their appearance in their respective projects. 

Song Hye Kyo

After her 2018 K-drama "Encounter" with South Korean heartthrob Park Bo Gum, the 39-year-old beauty will be returning with Jang Ki Yong in "Now, We're Breaking Up."

The news was confirmed in March, and they were finalizing the production before "My Roommate is a Gumiho" star's military enlistment. 

"Right Now, We're Breaking Up" release date is set on November 12 and will be the newest Friday-Saturday night K-drama. 

Apart from the highly anticipated team-up with the 29-year-old actor, Song Hye Kyo will also star in two upcoming dramas. 

First is the melodrama "The Glory" penned by "Descendants of the Sun" screenwriter Kim Eun Sook while the actress is also rumored to star in a mystery drama as she reunites with "Descendants of the Sun" director Lee Eung Bok.

After her jaw-dropping performance in Netflix's "Kingdom: Ashin of the North," Jun Ji Hyun is making a comeback in the K-drama with the action-thriller series "Cliffhanger."

Another interesting element with the upcoming drama is the star-studded cast. Apart from the Hallyu queen, "Cliffhanger" also welcomes "Kingdom" star Joo Ji Hoon, together with "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" star Oh Jung Se and veteran actor Sung Dong Il. 

In the drama, she takes on Mount Jiri park ranger Seo Yi Kang, an expert in navigation and tracking down lost individuals at the national park.

Another Hallyu queen that fans will be seeing on K-dramas is none other than Son Ye Jin. 

Following the mega-hit series "Crash Landing on You" with her leading man turned real-life boyfriend, Hyun Bin, the 39-year-old beauty, will be leading the cast of romance drama "Thirty-Nine."

Son Ye Jin will be working alongside Kim Ji Hyun and "Hospital Playlist" star Jeon Mi Do. 

In the forthcoming JTBC drama, the "Something in the Rain" star will take on the role of a successful head dermatologist Cha Mi Jo, who runs a renowned clinic in Gangnam. Despite her almost perfect life, she thinks that something is still missing, plus the fact that she is on the verge of turning 40.

The second half of 2021 is full of highly anticipated dramas that fans need to look forward to.  

Lee Young Ae joins the Hallyu queens who are set to return in K-drama with the action-comedy series "A Wonderful Sight."

In the upcoming series, she will play the role of Koo Kyung Yi, an insurance investigator who solves cold cases, whether it's by hook or by crook. 

This is scheduled to premiere on October 22 and can be streamed on JTBC.

After creating a buzz on her 2016 K-drama "The Good Wife," the 48-year-old A-lister will appear in the soon-to-be-released melodrama "Lost" opposite Ryu Joon Yeol. 

JTBC is gearing up for the upcoming series with a captivating teaser that surely piqued fans' interest. 

"Lost" will premiere on September 4, airing every Saturday and Sunday.
