‘Penthouse’ Actor On Joo Wan Reveals Kim So Yeon and Uhm Ki Joon’s Attitude on Set + Names the ‘Biggest Villains’ at Hera Palace

In the latest episode of the SBS variety show "My Little Old Boy," where he appeared as guest host, the 37-year-old actor shared his experience and thoughts in the top rating revenge drama.
On Joo Wan Names the 'Biggest Villains' in 'Penthouse 3'
During his chat with the MCs, "The Lies Within" star spoke about the characters in the SBS Friday night series.
He mentioned that Joo Dan Tae and Cheon Seo Jin, played by Uhm Ki Joon and Kim So Yeon, are the "biggest villains" in Hera Palace; however, he was surprised by the actors' attitude behind the camera.
On Joo Wan revealed that both are far different from the characters they portray in "Penthouse 3: War in Life."

What is Uhm Ki Joon Like On the Set of 'Penthouse 3'
In the variety show, he was stunned at how the award-winning actor managed to live like Joo Dan Tae on cam for more than a year, revealing that his role contradicts his attitude in real life.
Moreover, he also cited how the actor would come on set and greet everyone with a warm tone.
"He'll enter the set saying, 'Hi, how're you been?' [in Joo Dan Te's voice]. From the moment he arrives, even though the cameras aren't rolling, he enters the set as Joo Dan Te. That's not what he's normally like in real life. But he's lived a year and a half like that, starting from Season 1."
In the drama, Uhm Ki Joon gained the public's attention with his evil character Joo Dan Tae, who is driven by revenge, and fueled by an overwhelming desire for more, may it be wealth or power.
With his impeccable acting skills, he took home the 2020 SBS Drama Awards for Best Actor for his portrayal as the Hera Palace chairman.
Kim So Yeon is Overwhelmingly 'Polite' On the Set of 'Penthouse 3'
Of course, the villains would not be complete without Cheon Seo Jin, played by Kim So Yeon.
According to On Joo Wan, the 40-year-old South Korean beauty was very polite and sweet on set.
He added that Kim So Yeon would constantly say thank you every time her scene.
"She only needs to say 'thank you once, but she'll keep saying it ten times. Every time I pass the prop back, she'll say, 'Oh, thank you. Thanks so much," adding that he did not know how to react towards the actress' politeness before they became close.
In the "Penthouse" trilogy, she took on the role of Cheong Ah Arts director and famous prima donna Cheon So Jin, who is eager to destroy everyone who gets in her way.
Her outstanding performance as the evil queen at Hera Palace earned the coveted title of Best Actress at the 2021 Baeksang Arts Awards.
Meanwhile, On Joo Wan's character, Baek Jun Ki was introduced in the season finale of "Penthouse 2" and is currently bridging Logan Lee and Shim Su Ryeon to plot their anticipated revenge against Seo Jin and Joo Dan Tae.
