Song Joong Ki and Park So Dam have been confirmed to host the 26th Busan International Film Festival this October 6.
After days of discussion, Song Joong Ki will officially host this year's Busan International Film Festival, alongside Parasite actress Park So Dam. The two celebrities will share the stage for the opening ceremony of the prestigious event, to be held at the Seoul Cinema Center.
Both Song Joong Ki and Park So Dam have experienced hosting in the past, such as in music shows and in K-Drama and K-Pop awarding ceremonies.
The difference about their new project hosting is that there will be no crowd due to the ongoing pandemic.
For the overseas fans who would like to see the event, the whole awarding ceremony can be watched live through various streaming platforms, which will be announced soon.

What to Expect from the 26th Busan International Film Festival
Aside from the two big stars to host the event, a plethora of Korean talented actors, compelling movies and dramas are ready to receive awards at the 26th Busan International Film Festival. Many South Korean celebrities are also expected to be present at the event.
Further, Song Joong Ki's "Space Sweepers" is scheduled to have a special screening at the upcoming festival.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited Netflix series "Hellbound," starring Yoo Ah In, and "My Name" starring Han So Hee, will have their first and grandest world premiere at the imminent festival. This is to showcase the drama's origin and to honor the actors and staff behind these projects.
In this year's celebration, a new category has been made by the official organizers of the film festival. They decided to launch the "On Screen Section," where upcoming dramas will be first screened. It was made possible due to the increasing popularity of the Korean wave outside South Korea.
Meanwhile, following Park So Dam's K-Drama "Record of Youth," she is expected to make her silver screen comeback with "Phantom" this 2021.
Song Joong Ki will also meet the viewers again with his new film "Bogota."
