Lady Gaga Shows Goofy Self as she Draws Laughter on “Saturday Night Live” (Photo/Video)
Lady Gaga has proven that she can be one goofy star, without letting everyone forget that she is a pop star in the first place.
While the “Born This Way” singer could have wanted applause in her appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” over the weekend, the Entertainment Weekly said that the controversial singer has received some laughs, too. And the episode with Lady Gaga’s name on it has been described as consistently amusing the whole time.
EW noted that Lady Gaga allowed herself to “come across as a down-to-earth goofball,” which led the last SNL episode an enjoyable one to watch. It may not always “laugh-out-loud hilarious,” but the news outlet claimed it was “consistently amusing.”
One of the top moments of the evening was “Waking Up with Kimye Sketch.” According to the Los Angeles Times, the show dedicated two segments for the celebrity couple, enough to spoof their peculiarities that drew out a lot of laughter from the audience.
In the sketch, Kanye West was played by Jay Pharoah while Nasim Pedrad plays Kim Kardashian. The segment showed Pharoah (West) giving out musical jobs to the members of the Kardashian family, based on their talents, noted LA Times.
Lady Gaga came in as an employee from Apple Genius Bar who prompted Kanye to slam her with: "You do not deserve the title of genius!"
But what really had everyone laughing out loud was Kanye enumerating the awards Kimye had received through the years. But listening to them, it was all about Kanye, who later declared he was the genius not Lady Gaga.
“Between the two of us, we’ve earned 19 Grammys, sold over 21 million albums, and won Best Male Artist at the NAACP Awards.” “Yeah, we did it!” Pharoah (West) was quoted as saying in the sketch by Entertainment Weekly.
"I'm also blond now!" Nasim Pedrad said as Kim, according to LA Times.
Lady Gaga had two performances for the evening. She first took the stage with R. Kelly for “Do What U Want.” Her second performance began with a piano for “Gypsy,” then finished the song using a guitar.
