At the palace, Prince Yang Myeong visited his father, King Sung Jo, to update him about Ha Ram and discuss the nearing sealing ceremony.

The King then made a huge revelation regarding the dynasty's future.

He personally mentioned that it would be him, Prince Yang Myeong, who would be the next crown prince. Unfortunately, this was heard by Prince Joo Hyang (Kwak Shi Yang), making him extremely furious about the King's decision.

Initially, the grand prince asked the King to reconsider his plans saying that his older brother was perfectly healthy and capable of leading.

King Sung Jo then mentioned why he didn't see a true leader in his son. He described him as a smart and healthy man but is not wise, adding that he has been after the demon king after the fire incident at the pavilion.

Will Prince Joo Hyang be the next Crown Prince?

The King had an intense discussion with his second son, Prince Joo Hyang. He questioned him as to why he wanted his younger brother to be the crown prince.

The father and son had a heated argument, leading King Sung Jo to exile him to Jeju Island. Unfortunately, the royal had a heart attack, causing him to vomit blood and collapse.

The following day, the royal official had a meeting regarding the next in line to the throne. Other scholars stated that the King appointed Prince Yang Myeong as the crown prince; however, there was no official statement to this.
