Following the massive success of "Crash Landing on You," starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, the rom-com series is set to have an American remake.
Debuted in 2019, viewers immediately fell in love with the character of North Korean Captain Ri Jung Hyuk, played by the 39-year-old heartthrob and the South Korean girl boss Yoon Se Ri portrayed by the Hallyu star.
Apart from the reel to the real-life couple, "Crash Landing on You" cast also features Seo Ji Hye as Captain Ri's fiancee Seo Dan and Kim Jung Hyun as Goo Seung Jun.
The perfect lineup of cats compliments the entertaining and stunning work of art penned by "the Legend of the Blue Sea" screenwriter Park Ji Eun and directed by "The Good Wife" PD Lee Jeong Hyo.
If you need a refresher, the tvN Kdrama follows the story of a South Korean heiress Yoon Se Ri who got caught up in an accident where she met the North Korean soldier Captain Ri.
Being a resident of two opposing countries, their relationship started on the wrong foot but managed to turn the tides after knowing more about each other.
After almost two years of bidding farewell to fans, "Crash Landing on You" will return with a U.S remake.
On November 4, CJ E&M and Netflix expressed their plans to produce an American version of the megahit series
At the press conference, Studio Dragon CEO Kang Cheol Gu revealed that the tie-up is underway.
"We are in the final stages of a contract with Netflix-U.S. in order to develop a remake of the drama 'Crash Landing On You.' We are currently discussing five potential Netflix original series and are compromising with AppleTV, Disney Plus, and more," he mentioned.
Unfortunately, amid the announcement, viewers had mixed reactions and the majority of them were saddened about the remake.

The update caused the netizens to express their disappointment towards the U.S spinoff, hinting that they might ruin the essence of the story.

My thoughts on the Crash Landing On You remake:
1. Stop remaking foreign shows/movies into english titles, they're fine the way they are.
2. The show is deeply rooted in Korean history, politics and culture... a US remake literally won't even make sense.

No 'BinJin'
American spinoff means no Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin or, as fans would call it, "BinJin."
The two stars perfectly portrayed the characters and their amazing and undeniable on-screen chemistry that eventually turned into a real-life romance.
Because 'Crash Landing on You' is Just Perfect. Period!
There is no need for a further explanation because the tvN Kdrama is just perfectly made--from storyline down to the roster of the cast.
Moreover, it ultimately highlights the culture and hierarchy of two opposing countries, which sparks curiosity about whether the U.S remake will have the same aspect.
