"One Ordinary Day," a remake of BBC's "Criminal Justice," follows the story of an ordinary student whose life turns upside down after becoming the prime suspect in a harrowing murder case, and a third-rate lawyer who reaches out to clear the student's name, without asking for anything in return.

Kim Soo Hyun, popular and critically acclaimed actor, shared his thoughts on the drama, saying, "I watched the American adaptation of "Criminal Justice," [to get more insight] and I was moved. I wanted to try to put my own charm on Kim Hyun Soo's character."

"When I first heard about the drama, I wanted to give my best for the drama. I really wanted to try doing Kim Hyun Soo's character. I felt so frustrated, sad, hurt and lost," the actor added, showing intense emotions in his new acting role.

On the other hand, Cha Seung Won shared, "My character [in the original series] was as cold as ice on the outside but is actually warm, especially when interacting with other people. I liked that part of him."

"I agreed to do this drama because of the director, Lee Myung Woo. I had a lot of great memories from working with him before. I had faith in him, that's why I wanted to try working with him again," Cha Seung Won added, smiling and praising the director.

"I know he would successfully bring out the emotions and feelings of the acting that I wanted to show," he concluded.

Finally, Kim Sung Kyu, who will portray a prisoner, said, "I liked the message that the series wants to convey. Despite my role being a challenging one, I took it immediately when I read the script."

He also said, "Kim Hyun Soo is the main character but the stories of the other characters were also interesting. I didn't feel much pressure about playing a villain. He's different from the roles I'd played before."

When asked about his character, he shared, "He's a criminal but he's not a simple villain. He holds the power in the prison. If I was a hyena before, I'm a lion now."

'One Ordinary Day' Director Lee Myung Woo On Casting Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Seung Won and Kim Sung Kyu

The director shared that he felt intense numbness for several days after watching the original drama. Since there was a strong message, he thought it would be cool if there would be a South Korean production.

Lee Myung Woo worked day and night in making the drama fit to South Korean's taste, saying, "We have different societies and ways of expressing emotions so I had a lot of discussions with the writers on how to make it more Korean."

He praised Kim Soo Hyun, saying that the actor creates a great sense of immersion with his roles no matter how challenging they are. Lee Myung Woo admitted to being nervous after he offered Kim Soo Hyun a role in the drama.

"When he readily agreed to the casting offer, I thought I was dreaming," he shared.

Meanwhile, director Lee Myung Woo and Cha Seung Won previously worked together in the drama "You're All Surrounded."
