Girl’s Day Hyeri and Kang Mi Na Exchange Icy Gazes in New Drama ‘Moonshine’
KBS2's forthcoming historical drama "Moonshine" (also referred to as "When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon") amplifies tension as it releases new stills that capture Girl's Day Hyeri and Kang Mi Na's tension-filled encounter.
In the new historical drama, Girl's Day Hyeri and Kang Mi Na portray two different women with firm beliefs and strong personalities.
Girl's Day Hyeri and Kang Mi Na Exude Tension Through an Exchange of Icy Gazes in 'Moonshine'
The newly released stills depict the great differences in Kang Ro Seo and Han Ae Jin's lives, raising curiosity.
Kang Ro Seo, played by Girl's Day Hyeri, becomes the provider of the family after her beloved father passes away. Despite the drastic changes in her life, Kang Ro Seo chooses to live with a positive outlook in life.
She also hopes that her older brother, Kang Hae Soo, played by Bae Yoo Ram, passes the "gwageo," the highest level examination to become an honorable government official.
On the other hand, Han Ae Jin, played by "Hotel del Luna" actress Kang Mi Na, lives comfortably as the only daughter of a respectable noble family.
Like a delicate flower, she bloomed beautifully to a fine young woman. Her father, Han Sang Woon, played by Lee Hwang Eui, treats her as the apple of his eyes.
Because of this, she grew up in a very sheltered environment. She always got what she wanted easily, and she never had to do anything she didn't want to do.
In the newly released stills, the two different women from two different worlds meet unexpectedly. Kang Ro Seo and Han Ae Jin meet for the first time in the middle of the market, exchanging subtle icy gazes with one another.

Apart from the shock, the uneasiness the two feel is evident. Curiosity about how the two women started off the wrong foot is heightened.
Attention is also focused on how Kang Ro Seo and Han Ae Jin's complicated relationship changes over time.
'Moonshine' Production Unit on Girl's Day Hyeri and Kang Mi Na
Girl's Day Hyeri and Kang Mi Na, both idols-turned-actresses, have cemented their names in the industry as promising rising actresses.
Girl's Day Hyeri stole the hearts of many after her remarkable acting performance in "Reply 1988" with Ryu Jun Yeol, Go Kyung Pyo, Lee Dong Hwi and Park Bo Gum.
She also starred in the 2021 fantasy romance drama "My Roommate Is A Gumiho" with Jang Ki Yong. Interestingly, "Hotel del Luna" star Kang Mi Na made her cameo appearance in the said drama.
The production unit of "Moonshine" hinted at the gradual improvement of the two characters' relationship, saying, "Although Kang Ro Seo and Han Ae Jin started off on the wrong foot, the two will overcome bigger and more complicated situations together in the future."
'Moonshine' Premiere Date and Further Details
Set in the period of Joseon when the prohibition laws were at their peak, "Moonshine" follows the story of the romance between Kang Ro Seo (Girl's Day Hyeri), a struggling aristocrat who brews alcohol illegally, and Nam Young (Yoo Seung Ho), the great inspector who lives his life by his principles.
The drama is solely based on the webtoon entitled "When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon," which was the drama's first working title.

"Moonshine" is scheduled to air for the first time on December 20 at 9:30 p.m. KST on KBS.
