'Il Mare' (2000)

Prepare to cry and fall in love with "Squid Game" actor Lee Jung Jae and "Jirisan" star Jun Ji Hyun's 2000 fantasy romance film "Il Mare."

"Il Mare" translates to "The Sea" in Italian, and it is the name of the seaside house where the two Eun Joo (Jun Ji Hyun) and Sung Hyun (Lee Jung Jae) lived.

It follows the story of the two, who lived in "Il Mare" two years apart in time, but are able to communicate through a mystic mailbox.

Despite the struggles and complications in time, Eun Joo and Sung Hyun fell deeply in love with each other.

"Il Mare" successfully stole the hearts of many that the film was even remade by Warner Brothers in 2006 as "The Lake House" with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

'Spellbound' (2011)

One of the most top-grossing South Korean films of 2011 is Lee Min Ki and Son Ye Jin's horror-romance-comedy film "Spellbound."

Also known as "My Girlfriend Can See Ghosts," it depicts the hilarious romance between a magician who falls in love with a woman who can see ghosts.

Apart from its grossing success, the Korean film also received international acclaim, making it the most successful Korean romantic comedy film in years.

'The Beauty Inside' (2015)

The charming and satisfying award-winning film "The Beauty Inside" captured the attention not only of the Koreans but also fans worldwide for its outstanding storyline and performances.

"Happiness" actress Han Hyo Joo and "Hospital Playlist" star Yoo Yeon Seok showed off undeniable chemistry together in the film.

"The Beauty Inside" tells the enigmatic story of a man who wakes up in a different body everyday, and a woman who falls in love with him despite the other-worldly phenomena.

'Be with You' (2018)

Based on the novel of Takuji Ichikawa and a remake of the 2004 Japanese film of the same name, "Be with You" is a romance-drama film, starring Son Ye Jin and So Ji Sub.

It depicts the melancholic story of a short-lived romance between husband and wife Soo Ah and Woo Jin, who make the most out of their relationship's numbered days.

The drama will not make viewers cry but it will also make everyone realize how important the time spent with family is.

Along with "The Beauty Inside," "Be with You" is one among the many grossing films up to date.
