Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol Share Impressions of One Another, Talk About Their Drama ‘Our Beloved Summer’ and More
In an exclusive interview with The Swoon, partnered by Netflix, the cast of "Our Beloved Summer" sat down and talked about their memorable moments during their high school days. Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol also shared their favorite scenes in the drama and more.
Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol on Working Together in 'Our Beloved Summer'
Before the year 2021 ends, the cast of SBS TV's high rating rom-com drama "Our Beloved Summer" Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol, sat down for an exclusive interview and talked about their experiences in life, before and after entering the show business.
Because "Our Beloved Summer" shifts from the past to the present with a ten-year interval, drastic changes happened to Woong, Yeon Soo and Ji Woong, Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol's characters respectively.
The three then were asked what they were like during their high school years. The two handsome men, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol, were both outgoing and extroverted. They often hang out with their friends after class ends.
On the contrary, actress Kim Da Mi preferred to be at home, sleeping all day. She would rather read a book and lie on the bed all day than go out with friends.
According to Choi Woo Sik, he resembles his character, Woong, a lot. Apart from their personality, the actor also couldn't sleep very well.
On the other hand, Kim Da Mi and Kim Sung Cheol both agreed that their personalities are just a mix of the "Our Beloved Summer" cast's personalities.
'Our Beloved Summer' Cast Shares Memorable Scenes in the Drama
With a coming-of-age genre, the drama guarantees refreshing and youthful aura. Truth to be told, it brings a different kind of bright, relaxing and comforting entertainment to every viewer.
Choi Woo Sik described the drama as "a sentimental yet fun drama that goes perfectly well with all seasons."
When asked about their favorite scenes in their drama, Choi Woo Sik chose the one where co-star Kim Da Mi gave him a piggyback ride. The actor revealed that he lost 9kg for the scene to avoid hurting Kim Da Mi.
For Kim Da Mi, the very first scene they filmed was her favorite. During the first day of filming, Kim Da Mi and Choi Woo Sik filmed a non-dialogue scene as they ran happily under the rain while holding hands.

On the other hand, a poor Kim Sung Cheol revealed that he couldn't shoot his scenes because of the rain.
The trio exudes a different kind of synergy that is very pleasing to the eyes. According to them, teamwork and communication are better for the three of them because they are all in the same age range.
Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol Share What Kind of Documentary They Want to Try in the Future
Since the drama follows the story of two young adults who are paired up to work in a documentary film, the trio was asked what kind of documentary they want to try in the future.
For Choi Woo Sik, he wants a documentary film that is touching, inspiring and reflective. He wants to give a shockingly impactful story through his documentary.

Kim Da Mi wants to try an animal-related documentary where focus is given to the psyche and temperament of animals, comparing and contrasting it to human's abilities. For Kim Sung Cheol, he wants to do a documentary film about the life of a person who has lived an active life, like Michael Jordan, drivers and athletes.
'Our Beloved Summer' Cast Chooses Between Love and Friendship
Hinting at the drama's possible love triangle between Kim Da Mi, Choi Woo Sik and Kim Sung Cheol's characters, they were asked to choose between love and friendship.
Choi Woo Sik simply answered, "Love. My friends would understand and cheer me on."
For Kim Sung Cheol, who was having second thoughts, said, "If I was younger, I'd choose friendship. Because I didn't know anything about love then. But now, it's certainly love."
Kim Da Mi, who is only listening, agreed to Kim Sung Cheol's answer.
The interview concluded with the cast's plans for the year 2022. Kim Da Mi and Choi Woo Sik want to spend the next year with a goal-oriented career, trying out different kinds of roles in different dramas.
On the other hand, Kim Sung Cheol, if given the chance, wants to show off his hidden charms in dancing. Although he had been in more than 10 musicals, he never had the chance to dance with the ensemble.

Apart from that, he wants his future characters to be free from unrequited love stories. This hits closer to home as he reveals that his then girlfriend once broke up with him after falling in love with his best friend.
In addition to that, a horror film is also one of the things Kim Sung Cheol is dying to try.
