‘Ghost Doctor’ Episode 1: Rain Turns Into an Egoistic Doctor + Kim Bum Takes Over a Critical Surgery

'Ghost Doctor' Episode 1 Recap: Cha Young Min Succeeds his First Operation as an Intern
The debut episode began with Cha Young Min (Rain), an intern who witnessed a life and death situation at the ER.
His senior refused to accept a patient who was on the verge of dying and was told to transfer to another hospital.
Upon hearing a commotion, Cha Young Min insists that they should treat the patient but his senior challenge him to operate on the patient.
Fortunately, he managed to get through the surgery and saved the patient's life. Because of this, he became quite famous in the hospital.
Twelve years later, he became one of the best thoracic surgeons at Eunsang University Medical Center.

Intern Oh Soo Jung's Tough Encounter with Cha Young Min
"Ghost Doctor" episode 1 also illustrates how Cha Young Min has transformed through the years.
Apart from a skilled doctor, he is also the hospital's head turner because of his stunning looks and style.
In one scene, he encountered emergency room intern Oh Soo Jung (Apink's Son Naeun), who tried to convince him to check on the patient suffering from cardiac arrest.
Unfortunately, the doctor did not welcome her request and believed that he wouldn't survive the surgery.
"You just return to the ER. You just learned how to pronounce someone dead," he tells the intern, which made her disappointed.
At the emergency room, the doctors couldn't revive the patient and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Cha Young Min Meets his Perfect Match
During the doctors' conference, the thoracic surgeon was stunned to meet the first-year medical student Ko Seung Tak, who is also the heir of Eunsang University Medical Center.
His grit, outspoken personality and status made Cha Young Min hate the newbie knowing that he was born with a silver spoon and got to be successful easily.
To test his knowledge and skill as a doctor, he invited him to join a VIP surgery and was instructed to participate during the operation, but Ko Seung Tak backed out, making his senior even more furious at him.
Because of this, he was sent to the emergency room to work as a resident.
Cha Young Min Involved in a Car Accident
"Ghost Doctor" episode 1 also featured the start of an unexplainable situation between Cha Young Min and Ko Seung Tak.
The thoracic surgeon woke up in a car crash but was surprised that he became a ghost and saw his body got severely hurt due to the accident and was rushed to Eunsang University Medical Center.
At the emergency room, the doctors were panicking over his condition, especially when his BP dropped.
Leaving him with no choice, Ko Seung Tak says he will operate.
With Cha Young Min's ghost inside the operating room, he accidentally held the newbie's hand as he was about to cut him open.
Here, he felt something odd and upon seeing the mirror, the thoracic surgeon's soul entered Ko Seung Tak.
Oh Soo Jung also noticed the mannerism of Cha Young Min that he usually does right before he does his operation.
In the latter part of the Kdrama, Ko Seung Tak totally transformed into his senior, Cha Young Min.
