The beloved rom-com Kdrama "Yumi's Cells" starring Kim Go Eun and Ahn Bo Hyun is set to return with a brand new season.
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, the tvN series follows the story of an ordinary office girl named Kim Yumi, living an extraordinary life.
Joining her are the adorable cells headed by Love cell, Yumi's primary cells. She acts as the leader of the group at Sepho village.
They witnessed how Yumi struggled with her previous relationship and her newfound love with Goo Woong.
However, their relationship was put to the test after Yoo Bobby and Seo Sae Yi came into the picture.
'Yumi's Cells' Season 2 Release date
Even before season 1 started, director Lee Sang Yeob revealed that the rom-com series would have multiple seasons.
Interestingly, the "Yumi's Cells" cast hints at the possible release of the rom-com series, noting that it might air sometime in 2023.
After successfully wrapping up the first season, Kim Go Eun revealed that season 2 is in the works and officially concluded the production on December 30.
Unfortunately, official updates such as "Yumi's Cells" release date are yet to be confirmed by the officials and tvN.

Kim Go Eun (Kim Yumi)
Portraying the titular role, Kim Go Eun will reprise her role as Kim Yumi.

Apart from the upcoming sequel, the 30-year-old beauty is set to headline a novel-based Kdrama "Little Women" with Nam Ji Hyun and "All of Us Are Dead" star Park Ji Hoon as her siblings.
Ahn Bo Hyun (Goo Woong)
As mentioned, season 1 featured how his relationship with Kim Yumi blossomed and their saddening fallout due to different priorities in life.
It is not confirmed whether Ahn Bo Hyun will reprise his role, but he might appear for flashbacks during Yumi's second relationship.
On the other hand, the "My Name" star is currently starring in a new series, "Military Prosecutor Doberman," alongside Jo Bo Ah.
GOT7's Jinyoung (Yoo Bobby)
Viewers were drawn to the GOT7 Jinyoung's character, where he played the second lead, Yoo Bobby.
In the latter part of the season, the story hints at the duo's possible romance since both of them worked in the same department.
According to writer Song Jae Jung "Yumi's Cells Season 2" will witness the heart-fluttering romance of this new pair.
'Yumi's Cells' Season 2 Will Feature New Characters
Following updates regarding "Yumi's Cells Season 2," Shin Ye Eun's agency, npio Entertainment, confirmed that the actress would be "making a special appearance as Da Eun" in the forthcoming sequel.
Apart from her, Block B's P.O will also join the cast as Control Z, Yumi's illustration writer.
