In an interview obtained by the Korean media outlet, TenAsia, Son Ye Jin shares what she truly feels about playing the role of Cha Mi Jo in JTBC's "Thirty-Nine."
The actress went on to describe her character as someone who chose to hide her pain, "but I acted as a mature and warm person."
In the Wednesday and Thursday drama, Cha Mi Jo, who grew up in a wealthy family, is the head and CEO of her own dermatological clinic.
Despite living a comfortable life and being surrounded by her loving family, she couldn't escape her painful past.
"Thirty-Nine" reveals how Cha Mi Jo spent her childhood in an orphanage after being abandoned by her biological mother. Thankfully she was adopted by a family who showed nothing but love and kindness to her.

As the interview continues, Son Ye Jin dishes out the influence of the JTBC series on her as a person.
She explained that "as an actress, as a woman, and as a person who has just passed through thirty-nine, it was a work that gave me a lot of comforts," adding that "Thirty-Nine" will be one of the remarkable projects for her, expressing her strong fondness for the drama.
Moreover, the Hallyu star was also moved by the friendship seen in the K-drama.
She says that she feels "envious of the friendship of those who cared for each other more than themselves."
Lastly, she wished that "Thirty-Nine" had given the audience "some warmth" to those who were experiencing a "weary life" and sympathized with the viewers who were currently suffering pain and discomfort.

The 12-episode series is Son Ye Jin's comeback to the small screen after headlining the smash hit K-drama "Crash Landing on You" with now-husband, Hyun Bin.
The "Thirty-Nine" finale wraps up on a high note after marking its new personal best.
According to Nielsen Korea, the show garnered an average nationwide rating of 8.1 percent, it's highest since the drama premiered.
In addition, viewers also hyped the finale episode on social media, expressing how the ending was beautifully executed. The "Thirty-Nine" finale was also the same day as Son Ye Jin's wedding to Hyun Bin.
The duo tied the knot in an intimate outdoor wedding at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul on March 31.
Dubbed as the "wedding of the century," the guests include the couple's family, relatives, and close friends.
Spotted on the event are Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Ji Won, who was Hyun BIn's co-star in "Secret Garden," and Jung Hae In, Son Ye Jin's leading man in "Something in the Rain."
