A media insider announced on April 20 that Yang Se Jong is courted to join Bae Suzy to lead the upcoming webtoon-based series "The Girl Downstairs."
Yang Se Jong Reportedly To Team Up With Suzy in Netflix’s Series ‘The Girl Downstairs’
On the same day, the actor's agency Blossom Entertainment released a statement confirming that the male star received an offer to appear in the K-drama and he is positively reviewing the script.
The drama adaptation tells the story of a former idol Lee Doo Na and a college freshman who end up living in the same house due to an unexpected twist of fate.
If the 29-year-old actor accepts the project, he will play the role of Lee Won Joon and make his first small-screen comeback following military discharge last November 2021.
Previously, Suzy was offered to play the female lead Lee Doo Na, who is the main vocalist of the girl group Dream Sweet and finds herself quitting her career as an idol.

In 2018, Yang Se Jong starred in the SBS romance series "Still 17." Through this K-drama, he bagged the Excellent Actor Award at the 2018 SBS Drama Awards. He worked with rising actor Ahn Hyo Seop.

He also shared the same frame with "Mr.Queen" actress Shin Hye Sun, who was his previous leading lady.
Se Jong had his acting debut last 2016 in the hit series "Dr. Romantic" where he played the character of Do In Bum. He made a comeback in the drama's sequel in 2020, where he reunited with Ahn Hyo Seop.
Meanwhile, in December last year, Yang Se Jong officially joined Park Bo Gum and Cha Tae Hyun's agency Blossom Entertainment. The company immediately welcomed the new artist and stated they were already excited to join the actor's journey as he returned to acting after a military hiatus.
Before he signed an exclusive contract with Blossom Ent., the actor was under Good People Entertainment.
